Hi Chris.
I would just think what I want to build, and buy it. Life’s too short to hang around on the off chance you might get a bargain. In my experience bargains tend to be the kits that are less popular, and can push you into buying something you are not 100% interested in. Just go for it now buddy.

HI Tim well im not really worryied about gettin a bargain i dont mind payin full price as long as i can get a kit that gets my insterst an my instrest is the kit must have plenty of parts an be able to be cut open to show engines an such an ones that i can light up so when im in Hannants i will ask them to open up the kit an let me have a good look through the kit to see if its up to the standard i want as i did this with my hornet but not the tomcat as i dint know jen had bought it but she picked a good kit an yes i know it was a bad fit but so was the hornet but i can get around bad fits as long as it keeps my instrest of lighting it up an makin hatches open an close like the real planes so will see how i feel as i really want a ship in 1/200 scale like a carrier an a plane in 1/32 scale as yes i can get the space to put them when done
cheers Tim for your reply

Just had a Quick Look, and Trumpeter do Yorktown CV-5 and Enterprise CV-6 in 1/200 and I love kit (what a rubbish name) do Hornet CV-8 in 1/200. All in Hannants. Of course, you could have a look at the kit in Hannants and then buy from John…….

Chris isn't it just that you needed to recreate a login for the shop after John moved it to a new platform??

HI Nick it may be that an you may be right but i really want to buy the big kits from hannants as its an hr journey to get there an they let me open the boxes an look through the kits to see if its up to my exspectaions of what i want to do on the kits an they give me a good dicount which i cant do if i buy from john's shop so must be hannants an i also really enjoy the walk up an down lookin through the thounds of kits as a lot ive never seen before so that IS A MUST FOR ME if you see my reasoning behind my decision as jen has to practically lever me out of there as its a moddelers heaven
cheers for your reply Nick

I've never managed to get to Hannants Chris, but it sounds great. We had several Broads holidays when the kids were younger.
Have you been to Hobbies in Raveningham?

HI Pete sorry to hear you never been to Hannants but im glad i live close enough to go for the day but really you need to leave your wallet in the car an just think well i;ll spend a 100 quid an no more but im usein my card so no cash to hand over an feel bad about how much ive spent so no gilt lol an yes ive been to HOBBIES an i find they are more exspensive than HANNANTS as remember they buy all their kits from Hannants i think so they put on the price extra for their profit but thats if its the same HOBBIES i go to BUT for any moddeller Hannants is the place to be kits stacked on shelfs to the ceilin an thats why i havnt seen a qauter of them as the staff have to use ladders to get to the top shelf an bring down the model i may be insterested in but ive enjoyed my self immenssly when i go in there an all you have to do is walk in an sign a saftey book of time in so the staff know im in there an then when comin out just sign again an time i come out an pay brilliant
cheers hope you make it there one day Pete

There's a lot to be said for visiting a large model store, although I haven't been to Lowestoft I have been to Colindale Hannants, it was quite the pilgrimage and put a large dent in the bank balance! Online stores are super convenient and generally more economical but a nice day out can be had for the ardent scale modeller!

Why not take a trip up north and visit gods own country and head for West Yorkshire? Halifax is lovely this time of year! Maybe John will give a nice cheeky discount!

Sweeten the deal a bit!

Chris, I've had some good bargains from Hobbies, and I used to visit a nice garden centre on the way back home - can't remember the name or location, but their cafe served a really nice fish & chips for £5.99 for pensioners! I did actually go to the Colindale Hannants once, while visiting the RAF Museum, but they (Hannants) were closed for stocktaking that day!

Miko, much as I like Yorkshire, it's a long way from Rugby, and I don't think John actually has a physical retail shop.

Pete

. . . and I don't think John actually has a physical retail shop.

Oh, shame, it's when I read 'click and collect' I assumed. . . oh well, nevermind

Miko, much as I like Yorkshire, it's a long way from Rugby
Pete

According to Google maps Halifax is closer to Rugby than Lowestoft

Miko (Halifax Town is one of only five professional football clubs to feature an 'x' in their name, the other four are. . . . ?)
