Firstly a big thank you to PaulT for proposing and hosting this GB. It has opened my eyes to the enjoyment that these older kits can provide. I would definitely build some others in th

The kit lacks a lot of detail that we have come to expect from modern kits but went together well and looks like a Firefly when finished.

I would like to see Airfix retool this as they have with a lot of their old back catalogue but suspect it would be 1/48 if they did.

Anyway enough waffling here are the pictures.

Top job Geoff. I actually like the rivets, I think that add, a certain something to the model.

I agree, not sure if they are strictly accurate but I think they look good. (I couldn’t think of a suitable rivet counter pun 😂)

That's a great result. Just shows that great models can be made from older, cheap kits - just need a fair bit of patience and skill.

That looks fabulous geoff , beautifully built and painted , definitely doesnt look like a nearly 60 year old tooling! Cheers tony
