Also got another delivery today, from our very own SMS, (Thanx John)...
Various scatter materials for diorama's, should last me a good while, as I tend to only use small amounts...
I now have a good selection if this sort of material.

Hi all

So picked this up on an eBay auction for a good, if not great price....about 20% less than new.

Not that I'm trying to curry favour with an US members 😉 but when I get around to it, I think I will do the version with US markings, as I have more than enough Mossies in the stash that will have RAF markings.

I picked this up in Hobbycraft yesterday.

It was on sale for £3.50, I’ve been looking for something suitable for a while so that I can do this.

IMG_4986.jpg I find it makes it easier rather than having the instructions lying flat on the bench.

Geoff.

I was bored, and I was online, and I was browsing a few modelling type websites, and my wallet just happened to be nearby, and I'm a sucker for buying more "stuff", so now have these.....
Added to my ever growing Dspiae tool set, now have the little pin vice...

Plus got the Dspiae "multi" tool handy for careful cutting, scribing, drilling, etc. (Both courtesy of our very own SMS, thanx John)

Plus also got this lovely looking kit, British ATMP (All Terrain Mobility Platform, eg: a truck! Lol....) via Gecko and again, our very own SMS.
This may be a candidate for the proposed upcoming "Logistics" GB, we'll see....

Then finally I did a small shopping trip to Lidl today for the annual Xmas Airfix starter set bargains, but they had none, so then went to Aldi, and they did have some in, so bagged this one, as its about the only one from their selection that I don't already have....

And the pair of them snuggled up in the basket and looked too cute to separate right?

Yeah, I already had a pin vice, but it is just an Amazon cheapo one, so thought I'd treat myself to a nice quality one as I do use it a lot. Dspiae gear is really nice quality, but not cheap!

I too would have made a trip to Aldi, except for the fact that I have both of these already......a shame really!

A new addition to my stash... Meng Kubelwagen (Eastern Front)... not sure which scheme to go with though?!

That looks really nice. I've got an earlier version of the DSPIAE pin vice, and it looks like they've made some nice improvements. On mine the bit is held in place by a grub screw, tightened with a very small hex key which can be very difficult to remove from the tiny grub screw, which is annoying. And the rotating button on the handle has a tendency to come detached under pressure - but on yours it looks like it is better secured. I might get myself an upgrade...

Yep, there's no grub screw on this one, just hand tighten and hand loosen the chuck, easy peasy. It does feel like a nice quality bit of kit, especially compared to the cheapo one I've being using up to now...! 8-)

I have several pin vices. Best one is made by Eclipse, model 160, has three collets, and I’ve had it over forty years. Still works like new and holds the drills absolutely central with no eccentricity at all. The others are mostly used for rough stuff like holding wire stock during filling etc and were picked up cheap from various sources.
