Richards Hurricane Airfix 1/72 GB build

Wonderful work on those figures. They really do fit into the scene well.
Hope you and yours are OK. Been seeing on the news the devastation in your part of the world from the cyclone.

Lovely work on those figures Wabble, makes the scene come to life, cheers

Thanks Steven,
I always try to liven up the figure poses so they look natural. The manufacturers have improved on natural poses lately but basically in the 1/35 range.

Cheers,
Wabble

Good to see you back Richard, and looking good as usual!

Thank you Steve, it's good to be back. Had a short spell of lost mojo and this Hurri kept missing parts which didn't help at all. Decided to finish it. Have to keep the level up as usual.

Cheers,
Wanble

Thank you Jim, had to keep it simple yet tell a small story...How was your flight sir?...
I am having a heavy breakfast literally a One Ton noodle...wonton as I type...

We're fine but it was a close call. The opposite bank flooded and we were spared with the help of the flood pumps, wall and dikes. The river rose about eight feet above our ground level. The winds and storm was just going in circles creating constant ebb and fall of rain and drizzle. The second day was heavy with visibility at 10feet. There was some good that the wind did, it shook the heavy laden mangoes trees in the neighbourhood so I was picking up fallen mangoes as I walked Sebastian.
Thanks for asking.

Mmm...mango and passion fruit ice-cream...nice. The over ripe mangoes are usually pureed and blended with yogurt for lassi's or blended with Iice cubes to make smoothies. Great for hot weathers.
I personally like mine semi unripe dipped in dark soya treacle mixed with sugar, salt and chillis for that amalgamation of sweet sour salty and hot taste.
Will do Rich.

Hi, more updates to the figures...

The guy standing idle is now carrying Chocks made from plastic strip and thin wire for the ropes...

After finalising the poses all three figures were primed black and got the zinethel effect with a coat of white sprayed from above at an angle.

After this I had to quickly paint them the next morning having only a window of two hours before packing up and heading for our annual club meet. I fitted the figures to the base in situ.

Finally I got this near completion...figures were painted within two hours with acrylics. They were secured to the base with tiny dots of CA and the shine removed with Matt varnish brush on.

I will take more shots of the whole Dio when I can. Thanks for sticking with this misshaped filled build and I can finally put this to rest.

Cheers,
Wabble

That is excellent. Those figures really do fit into the scene in a very natural way. Your "chopping" them about was so worth doing.

Jim, Paul and Joe...thank you gentlemen. Apologise for the late reply. I promised some new photo angles but haven't gotten down to doing it yet. Yes Jim, I love my cleaver. A lot of work goes into finding a place to put my builds but lucky for me this goes to someone else's home.

Cheers,
Wabble
