Steve's Hasegawa 1/72 AH-64A Apache Attack Helicopter

Great start steve , pilots are looking excellent and should fill the cockpit nicely.

Pilots are now fitted.i have added some seat harnesses.

Also added the canopy. Absolutely perfect fit. Pictures taken before the crystal clear had dried so it is showing in the picture.

Canopy all masked off. Seams smoothed out and a bit of rescribing on a couple of panel lines on top side. Wings and pylons fitted.Coat of primer on.

Also assembled some of the ordnance and applied some primer.

Anticipating the real colours now. Good work so far.
 
Great progress steve , pilots look excellent . Without its wheels or rotors its giving me Stingray vibes ! Looking forward to the paint , cheers tony

Yes it does have that look. The Apache is a menacing looking beast

Well despite the heat I have cracked on with some painting. Pre shading done with white. I am looking to give the model a bleached tired look as if it has done a tour in the desert so went heavy with the white along the spine, top edges of the engine narcels, leading edges of the wings and a few blotches on the rest of the fuzz

next up some gloss varnish to seal then on with the decals.
 
Humbrol Enamel 155 Drab Olive Gern. Tamiya Acrylic grey primer and enamel matt white for preshade. I suspect the varnish will darken the paint further when applied.
Pity. I don't use enamels and every acrylic version of Olive Drab I have is much too dark. Must keep looking!
