Been updating my modelling spreadsheet, yes I know, I need to get out more, Lol!

Total model kits bought since restarting this great hobby = 103 (including figure sets and accessory sets, scenery, etc)
Currently stash (unmade) = 73 models.
Current completed models = 30 (not including figures and accessory kits)
Total spend (on model kits only) = £Lots!!!
Total spend on other model related "stuff", accesosries, paints, etc = £unknown?
Not even started on collecting data on accessories, tools, paints......!

Anyone else obsess about their hobbies? to the point of keeping lists, spreadsheets, or other data, etc.....

Some peeps might ask why? Why collect and keep such data, who cares, etc?

For me I will admit to being a bit OCD, and for most of my working life I have had to keep records and use spreadsheets, databases, track costs, project manage, etc, (I was a building surveyor, often with several projects / cases on the go at any one time), so its a natural thing for me to do, and....... actually I am quite good at it and I quite enjoy it.
Sad, but true.... Lol

I used to...... I had a spreadsheet.... Knew what it was, where and when I got it, how much I paid, what extras I got to go with it etc etc

These days I simply have a pic of the kit in a folder named 'stash'.... Pic gets removed when built

Can't be arsed any more, life's too short, rather spend the time building lol.... As long as I know what kits I've got I'm happy

Years ago on here, many servers ago, my signature would show a yearly tally of how many bought and built...... Think I caught that trick on the airfix forum, can't remember.... That was interesting stats after a few years lol

Yeah for me, I know I don't "need" to collect the data, but I have always been an organised person, like I said probably comes from my job, and even way back when I was at college. I was one of the first students in my college class to bring in printed assigments, rather than hand written, and CAD drawings rather than hand drawn, as I've always been a bit of a nerdy geek, always had a computer/printer, etc. I'm the same with other hobbies, I have lists and spreadsheets for everything, Lol....

For some hobbies, yes out of necessity.

For example, I'm a target shooter and I reload my own ammunition. I keep details of how many rounds I make each session, and of what calibre, because I need to give this info to the Firearms Team every 5 years when I renew my licence. I also keep records of what powder I have used, what weight, type and weight of bullet, etc. This is load development, so that when I get a load that works well in any given rifle I can replicate it.

I'm also into model engineering, so I keep details of speeds and feeds for different materials, and also retain any plans for parts I have drawn up in case I need to replicate them.

Its part of the hobby for me, but obviously not everyones cup of tea. I enjoy that side of it as much as the modelling itself....

Ah me too....I shoot airguns, fun plinking, paper targets, Benchrest, etc and have several, so I keep a list of those, what mods they've had, what scopes are on them, scope heights, what pellets they prefer, light, heavy, etc, etc.

Nice. I sold most of my airguns when I got my Firearm Certificate, but kept one (Weihrauch HW100) for use in the garden.

Nice gun, I have one too, in .177 in a Walnut Thumbhole stock....

Yeah, mines also in the walnut thumb hole stock, it's the shorter K version, though in .22.

Gave it a service last year, full strip and replaced every O-ring.

Also quite a bit less recoil than my .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and 7.62mm rifles.
