never thought of that i may have a ltr of some somewhere
tamiya gloss blackWhat was the can?
well body now a twisted mess so in the bin now rest of the kit back in the stash im gonna get some dot3 and keep it handyThat's a weird reaction Kaci. If you have some other paint or chrome remover like brake fluid, you may as well try it on this to see if there's a further reaction, which will confirm it's the plastic/styrene.
person i spoke to said may end in in a refund so may just buy another kit probably not this one againI hope you get the replacement parts you need
The copter kit that I had a problem with had several short-shot sprues so was moulded at too low pressure or too cold.Just been reading a bit more…..apparently terpinolene can dissolve styrene plastics. Wondering if the body shell was injection moulded at a lower than usual pressure, so making it not as resistant as the bumper to attack? Just my musing, we’ll probably never know. Still weird though.
