I've decided to add a bit of colour to my shelves, so I'm going to build a few training aircraft. Most are readily available, but I've been watching these on eBay, slowly increasing in price. So, time to buy. Was it a bargain, no. But I knew I would regret not getting one while I could.

A 1976 Matchbox Provost. Complete with 'yellowing' instructions and dissolving decals.

Colin,
sunglasses at the ready? That is truly a shocking colour! :smiling:
Dave
Funny thing is, the overall colour is Speed silver, so why not mould it in silver as was so often done in those days? Not to worry, but I think I'll be spraying the hi-glow bits.

Colin,
I think you would be better off using decals for the orange panels. Microscale do several orange trimfilm sheets, including DayGlo. If you're going to do some more trainers, then they won't go to waste........

No need to paint anything col its already pre coloured! Seriously I’m so glad you got one of these , its a cracking kit and i think youll be pleasantly surprised by the decals , matchbox decals were always very tough and these dont look to have yellowed at all, i dont think youll have any problems. If youre wanting to add a few more trainers to your collection check out the new tool KP ( kovozavody prostejov) range of zlin trainer aircraft , ive got a couple and they look like really nice little kits, i posted them on this very thread a while ago but god knows where they'll be , theres 300 odd pages ! Best bet is to use the search bar and type ‘zlins’ and posted by member - yak face - thats me:rolling::rolling:

Just got this from John in the scale models shop ( great service once again John ).

I'm hoping to put it into a diorama, once I start it.

My modest haul from last weekends event: two kits to add to the pile for now, two books full of colour photo's of restored vehicles and the Panzerwrecks books have a great mix of Allied and German vehicles in them.:smiling:

no good being on the high shelf.............need to be on the bench!! :smiling6::smiling6:

both kits go together with no drama...probably the hardest thing is attaching the screen on the Kat, the Honda is a lovely kit, i want another but its recently been discontinued from the catalogue, but it will be back, its a Tamiya perennial

we shall have to see if we can rustle up enough interest for a bike GB sometime

Hi Paul
The high shelf just houses the stash...nothing else significant about it....
I got them both from the scale models shop that hosts this site. In stock and supplied quickly....so if you want (need) a CB 750 that’s the place to go....
I would be up for a bike GB but later in the year when I’ve cleared the decks a little....
Cheers
Tim

i need a lot of other things first.........

hotrods, highboys and lead sleds
vmax
something WW1 related
some rally cars
funny car and rail dragsters

all on the shopping list lol

As a sort of WW1 crossover to wheely things the Copper State Lanchester kit looks pretty good....
