Latest Acquisitions (2019)

I kind of like these quick-assembly kits from Hobby Boss, with the fuselage and wings moulded as single pieces. They’re simple, but far from rubbish, is my experience. If only they’d add a separate part for the cockpit rather than moulding it integrally with the fuselage. Oh wait, this one seems to have just that — the three I have (all WWII planes) don’t.

If they were to package these with a pot of glue and some paint like Airfix, Revell, etc. do, they would probably make far better starting kits than most others.

Stocking up with a few more goodies from SMS

Colours & clears for the A-10
Some (hopefully) decent CA glue since mine is rubbish!
Croc clips were cheap as chips and I already had the skewers
A slower brush on glue as I seem to get Contacta everywhere :smiling2:
And some other bits & bobs to play around with.

A lovely little package arrived from John today. My Hataka Red Line Su-27 Flanker B paints. This build is starting to move it's way up my list now. Just a little PE and decal sets to get then she's a go'er

Evilbay strikes again and me knowing I don't need any more kits, but for under €12 delivered, I couldn't resist.

A package deal with a twist. Only the 13th MD 'Handshar' set is 100% complete. The other 3 sets contain only 2 figures and have the complete weapons sets included. The real reason I went for this package was I needed the the weapons from the Nachtjäger set with the IR scopes and power packs. Does anyone remember my project Night Moves '45???

Absolutely. Been waiting patiently for you to return to it. Glad to see you haven't forgotten. PaulE

Just to make Allen feel better here is my ebay haul from the last 2 weeks,

Indeed Paul, I'm another, I think he thought we'd forgotten. On no Dude 1 we are waiting, but get that V2 finished first.

Hi Dave,
Yes there is a bit of a theme, yes I've seen the Zvezda 251's, but considering what you get in the box I'm more than happy with this lot each kit comes with a driver and 3 out of the 4 came with additional figures
regards Jim

Allen has very kindly included this in the package, I had wondered why it was quite large, just suspected he had gone to a lot of trouble to pack it well , how wrong can you be . Top Man

Thanks Buddy.

Well nor we can get on with the BA20 in style .

While I was out and about in town I managed to pick up a " reed " brush , they've been out of stock for some time.

Bought this from a make-up shop my wife likes:

It's made of flexible silicone rubber, and is intended to be used for cleaning make-up brushes, but it works pretty well for paintbrushes:

Certainly helps to work up a lather, and avoids having too much skin contact with the brush soap.
This was from a shop at the East Midlands Designer Outlet near Mansfield, but I think Wilko have something similar.

As a little gift to myself - I've acquired these:

I've honestly just been looking at photo's of these two Dave.

The Convair actually did take off, and land vertically. The Lockheed only ever flew with a cobbled up fixed conventional (!) undercarriage - the Valom model gives you the choice of the designed, and actual!

I seem to remember having a really bad Lindberg kit of the Pogo back in the 70’s, purchased from the local home furnishings store ‘crap left over from Christmas’ department

They don't look bad - here's a few sprue shots of the Pogo P1060190.JPGP1060191.JPG

The canopy is pretty good, tooP1060193.JPG

The Valom Salmon is short run - no locating pins & a fair amount of clean up...................P1060194.JPG

The canopies are vac-form, and there are two to insure against disaster. There's also a tiny PE & film instrument panel ( not shown! )
The decals in both look pretty good, not that there is a great deal.....
