I find that my enthusiasm for benchtime has gone - I've been unwell, and the hot weather hasn't helped. I sat down at my bench yesterday, and fiddled for about ten minutes, then accepted that I had zero interest, in what I was doing.
It's happened before ( and probably will again ), so I'll put the works in progress back in their boxes, for the moment.
I'll still try and report new models on the internet, and will follow forum posts
I'm sure that this will pass, it's just a matter of waiting - luckily, I have other interests to prevent boredom....................
Dave

Happens to the best of us Dave! I cleaned, organised then stared blankly at the bench quite a bit over the past few weeks with no results. Had my head in research mode instead ( plus buying more kits I don’t need )

Yep, happens to probably everyone and with probably every hobby — it’ll pass :)

Hi Dave
It will pass, as you say. Sooner or later you’ll report on something new, or read a post, that will peak your interest and will be off again. Until then, don’t sweat it....

Hi Dave I'm with you, get the kettle on and I'll bring the biscuits around haven't been at the bench for 10 days and to tell you the truth I haven't missed it it been reading and researching and that's about it. Hope the health improves I know what that bits like.
Pete.

Struggling myself at the moment Dave. Possibly the recent bought of hot weather as much as illness etc. It's happened to me before and does pass. Don't panic!

Feeling your pain Dave. The summer months are never the best of times to be modelling. Keep safe and well and the mojo will return

Dave. like the other guys sorry to read you feel this way. Not feeling well health wise is bad enough, but coupled with this hot spell has not made things easier.
Without doubt your mojo will return. do hope you feel more like it soon.

John .

Morning Dave

I am in the same Stug, sorry boat lol

I do not like hot weather and coupled with my current heath issues its not been a nice time. I have no energy and like you the bench is of no interest at all.

Will get back no doubt!

Thanks for all the replies, people - modellers 'block' strikes without reason - I'm hoping it vanishes as quickly ( that stash isn't getting any smaller )
Dave

Been having the same lack of mojo Dave. Reading some neat books though, 'The Last Battle' by Stephen Harding (inspired the Tyrolean dio), 'The Dark and Bloody Ground' by Edward G Miller (can only take in small doses), 'We Are Legion (WE ARE BOB)', a very entertaining sci-fi novel. Hope your health improves. PaulE

Dave, haven't built anything since the last show event so you're not alone and this too shall pass for both of us.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Dave
I hope your health issues improve. The summer months are not the best for our hobby - too hot and too many other things take our time.
I am sure it will not be long before you find your mojo has returned.
Jim

I feel you Dave!

It's the same here in Germany. It's too hot and you sit at the table and sweat so you can't wear the optivisor either. A traffic jam in front of the spray booth and no luck with the hairy sticks!!! Even the glue doesn't dry right, only CA.....

Take care of yourself and try to stay cool Sir!!!

Prost
Allen

Dave,
Sorry to hear this. It was always good to see your numerous builds on the go. Take it easy the mojo will return and we will all be here.

I recently had a loss of mojo too dave, i found that reading books on certain subjects that ive got in the stash helped to stir my interest plus a bit of ebay retail therapy and a nice simple model to ease me back into it ( the revell 1/48 f16 ) . It’ll be back mate , hopefully in time for the p-38 group build ! Cheers tony

Dave stick with as others have said it will pass I have the same issues at the moment with my Lancaster build so much so that I have built something completely different in the last 5 weeks as a way of generating enthusiasm to go back to the Lancaster which seems to plod along without actually seeming to make any progress probably because of all the scratch building and detailing involved

Regards
Colin

Dave,
You have my sympathies, doing the same myself at the moment. Was doing ok until the finger problem (torn ligaments), Spent the time moping about, even helped HWMBO in the garden. Went in the loft, nothing there, cupboard in the spare bedroom - only spiders, went under the bench - dust. Wind the other day blew her patio 'greenhouse over' now screwed to the fence. Went on a caterpiller hunt - little burger making a meal of my future lettuces.... even out late the other night with a pot of salt on a slug hunt - 10 slugs asalted :rolling:......
Last couple of days have decided to build a diorama, even got some work done on it - let's see how far it will go.
So, Dave keep your chin up, there is always brexit and train spotting.....
Cheers, Mike.

Mike, somehow I have a perfect picture of you in my mind. All dressed up in your Cammo Jammy's with a set of NODs on your head and armed with a double barreled salt shaker bucket sneaking around in the garden just before midnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
