F82s were reintroduced in 1948 as jets of the time hadn't the legs to escort bombers into Russia. In theory, they could fly from England to Moscow & loiter for 30 minutes & return. 12 hour flights were possible. They were based w/Strategic Air Command. PaulE

Yes, some of the earlier ones had ball's in them, not anymore though.I guess they'd benefit from a shaker ball
