Hi all

So these masks are for a kit I have on order with John as of last night and are yet another modelling first for me.....sad I know.......

View attachment 399849

This kit arrived yesterday and didn't even costs a penny. It was a gift from a friend as a thank you for volunteer support I had been providing over a number of years but had recently decided to take a step back from. Very good news for my German forces as Junior's Typhoon won't have the run of the battlefield any more! ;) :smiling5:

Rather helpfully I have the Osprey book on modelling the Pz IV and variants and they do one based on the Revell Ausf H hull (which this kit also uses), plus the Hasegawa Wirblewind, a host of AM parts and a scatch-built turret. I'm not going to go into that level of detail but it will definitely help as will the build of the Revell Ausf H that is also in the book!

Andrew, I've been using PMasks in both 1/72 and quarter scale for some time now and have found them excellent, giving great results. The range available is very comprehensive and the price is much better than the competition.

Murfie

thanks for the info on the masks and yes you're right they do seem to be a lot cheaper.

Rather annoyingly though I also ordered a set of metal barrels for the Wirblewind yesterday and they are coming from the same supplier. It's meant I've had to pay postage and packaging twice. I wish I just waited all week or so before ordering the masks and got them together. But hindsight is such a wonderful thing

Amen to that. But I must say John is very accommodating when purchasing from him. I have made late changes to three orders in the past and he has responded quickly to adjust them. That sort of service is so much appreciated I often buy from him even if I have found a cheaper price on an item elsewhere.

Indeed Murfie. He has been very helpful in the past but unfortunately he didn't have them in stock.

Absolute necessity Steve. One of the best tools in the box. PaulE

Couldn't resist buying this Revell 'Pinta' when it appeared on ebay. Bought from a good seller in the USA, and I've paid for international P&P. The kit is from 1992 when Revell were in Illinois USA and tied with Monogram. First impressions are that it should build into a lovely little miniature historic ship and will be the second of my 1:90 scale Revell Christopher Columbus ships. Previously, I bought and built 'Nina', #7 in this thread and the finished model in 'Completed Ships'. In the second photograph, I've put a pen on the hull to show the size.

I've been absent for a while as work has totally beat me to a pulp. I hope to play catch up this weekend on all the good stuff here. Last week I did get a package from Poland with some reference material for my Zoukei kits for when I retire next year,

This week, I snagged this off evilbay for € 27 for my V2 project. It'll get an enclosed workshop body for the back. Much better detail than my IBG kit of it. The downside is the rubber tires,

See ya on the other side..............................

HI all

So a small package arrived from Dan Taylor Modelworks today after only being posted yesterday (and included a last minute change). I've had some things from him before and what I like is the he doesn't just stick stuff in a bag but includes an information on what you've bought, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant.

So the package included some metal barrels for Cromwells I somehow know my mum has bought me for my big birthday in December and some metal barrels for my SdKfz 222. I've snapped the plastic one off once two often and I also have an 20mm AA gun in the stash for the other one.

Finally, also some decals for my Staghound and Daimler Armoured Car. Unfortunately though there had been a mix-up and the wrong decals has been put in the bag with the correct information sheet. I contacted Dan at lunchtime to let him know.

Unfortunately though they had none left but tomorrow morning Dan is going to send me the leftovers of his own personal set instead (which apparently have what I need on them) and will then send me another full set once he's had some more printed. A mistake well resolved in my opinion!

This didn't come in the post but it did find its way into the back of my pick-up.....some one dumped it at the shoulder of the Highway and I rescued it to repurpose as a model display case, that I happened to be sorely in need of. As you can see, I have already started filling it up. Rick H.P1011438.JPGP1011439.JPG

Hi all

So on this sad day for the forum some arrivals at home......

This on its lonesome (John had none).....

Then these from John. Some replenishments and some new stuff - in particular my first proper washes. My homemade Revell off-black is fine my metal effects but I needed something better.

All credit to the postie too. I somehow missed the delivery from the parcel postie, caught the 'normal' mail postie to see if if was him I had missed. Three hours later the 'normal' mail postie is back with the van and the parcel, saving me a trip to the collection centre!!:smiling:

Inexplicably, somehow John also let this slip into the box as it made a bid for freedom! No idea how..... ;)

In all seriousness though what's not to like about it. So it it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Profipack but John was selling it for £11.69 ( I got the last one) and that was without the forum discount. I think that is stunning value when you consider the core plastic element of the kit is the same as the Profi[ack 110s I have. It also comes with some 'Super Fabric' seat belts, which look quite nice.
