Hi it's been about a month since I've been on here, I'm calling it time on here, toons type models aren't really for forums, my last two didn't go down very well so have decided to call it a day, I know you shouldn't presume that you get comments/ likes etc but only one like on final build photos.
I would like to thank everyone who has followed my builds and helped me along the way and especially with parts.
Thank you all very much for your support while I've been on here.
Pete.

dont go, stick it out.....i like to see toon stuff if no one else does

as for likes/comments im used to it now.....lost count how many builds ive been really happy with to get next to no recognicition for.......i nearly quit a month or two ago cos it felt like no matter what i did no one cared, but this is one of the better forums out there

Sad to see you go Pete, I’ve always enjoyed your builds. To be honest, I’ve always thought you get your fair whack of comments, but that’s a view from the outside. It obviously feels different from your viewpoint.

Pete

Bugger all wrong with a toon, especially when made by your goodself! Always enjoy your work and please carry on!!

Its a great break from the usual tanks, planes etc!!

Whats wrong with a toon on ANY forum, still a fine model to me Pete

Just my opinion but very sure many others as well !!

Just had a quick look Pete. Do you know you are listed in the top twenty members on the reaction score table? That wouldn’t happen if your contribution wasn’t appreciated.

Depends why you do it. If the likes motivate you I can see your point.

If not, what does it matter if anyone likes it?

I would ask you to stay, I stopped modelling for a while as I found painting problematic, however I'm now doing wooden models not to everyone's taste but I enjoy them, gives me an escape from the real world. I made some toons and I liked them, except the painting, and it was you that got me into them, I agree with others regarding the appreciation points etc we need you, if we all make the same things it will get very boring, we need variety.

Pete, I miss a lot of stuff on this forum because it's hard to keep up with all the postings, you did a very nice job on your latest toon models, I really like the scratch building and paint-style.

I have a toon-Spitfire in my stash - that I only bought because of your Spitfire build, I think that says a lot... :thumb2:

Cheers, Steven

Pete, don't leave just because there is lack of interest in the forum. No doubt its majority are serious modelers but I bet they do appreciate deviating for fresh R & R but can't make out how to comment as its out of their comfort zone.
Question is you like building toons and showing them at the same time. I feel getting even one like or a comment is enough to know someone out there appreciates what you do.

Cheers,
Richard

Pete, I have enjoyed every one of your builds that I have come across on the forum.........particularly the ones in which the Minions have been unleashed to do your bidding..........If you do end up leaving, I want you to know that I have sincerely enjoyed following your efforts and it will be like losing one of the family. Take care my friend, Rick H.

If I worked after the amount of likes I got in a build, I should have left years ago. However I build to please myself.
I enjoy seeing most of the builds on here, yours included. Some get likes, others dont.

I'm with the lads on this one Pete, it would be ashame to see you go as your builds are ace! Life gets in the way of things for sure, I haven't posted on here for a while, not because I want the right or wrong attention but I don't feel my stuff is good enough (personal opinion)... take a step back from posting your stuff but watch and enjoy others works, I do!

Pete,

I for one would hate to see you go. I have always enjoyed your builds especially the work you put in to your "toons" Please reconsider.

Morning Pete,
Another here that enjoys looking in at your toon builds and modifications....don’t recall seeing any lately?

As long as your enjoying building them then don’t worry, I’m sure a man of your abilities doesn’t only build to get likes!

I do a few things and dont even get a look in,and some times can be too, busy to log in then you miss peoples post, your work is great, ;) :smiling:

Sorry to hear that Pete. I for one struggle to keep up with so much happening on the forum, so apologies for missing anything you've put up.

Pete, although it's great to receive 'Likes', they are not the be all and end all of our model making.

Builds go through the forum at such a daft rate we all miss some of them.

I build models primarily for my own enjoyment, but the comments and 'likes' my stuff sometimes gets give me, and I'm sure all other members who submit their own stuff, a great buzz.

But I certainly wouldn't throw in the towel and leave if such things dried up.

It's your choice to leave, so all the best for the future.

Hi it's not really about comments and likes and I know people can't keep up with all the builds that are posted I can't but when you post something you don't know if anyone has seen it unless they comment or like it that's all.
As Tim once said toon have a very small niche audience as do other builds on here.
I do get a lot of fun and satisfaction from my builds, and in the world of toons I am now getting some great feedback and recognition, the World War Toons computer game is going to use one of my tanks that I built in their computer game next year and one of the Marvel comics cartoonists Robert Baxter has just done a cartoon drawing of one of my tanks and is sending it to me as a present all the way from California so I'm very happy with what's going on at the moment.
Pete.

Rather than leaving why not celebrate that success with us Pete?
On another tack, your scratchbuilding skills are excellent, so why not show us the thinking behind it and how you scratch things in a detailed SBS? Those sort of skills are universal in application, so everybody would then benefit from your talent.
