What's on the Bench? 2021

Paul....bear in mind that the flanges on N scale wheel sets can be "turned" down a bit to bring them more into scale. Hope this helps. Rick H.

Here is what is currently on the bench..........looking to see if I can produce some sort of homogenous scene out of three separate entities. A freight car unloading fuel drums, a Fuel supply truck picking up a load of fuel for the heavy tank battalion it is assigned to and a heavy tank and its crew sitting on a siding, waiting to be picked up by a passing freight and moved to the front.P1011711.JPGP1011712.JPGP1011713.JPGP1011714.JPGP1011715.JPG

I’ve got to have a trailer for the B-73 Mack so I did some painting and decaling on this Lionel trailer last night. Need to add the ICC bumper and more wheels are on the way then off to the layout. 4993A90F-54CA-4A7F-B47E-687C282A2C4A.jpeg6CEB55BD-F20F-4CFB-B10E-5C09C78E12D7.jpeg3AD7B9EB-F108-4D0D-B97C-9DF3135F9F4B.jpeg2BF97197-B3FF-4DD7-92B6-B1B1CF85C9B9.jpegC8397B65-7CD4-4E68-B21E-A71DB4B250A2.jpeg

Note the cup of tea...most important piece of kit :smiling4:

On my bench is the revell 1/72 Lancaster Dambuster. Coming along quite nicely.IMG_20210319_212101.jpg

Thanks Paul. Funny you should mention the truck, it was my first attempt (15 years ago) at something that ran on tires instead of tracks. Thanks for the comments. Rick H.

This week I have been mostly painting wolves......
C0E76946-F221-468E-85B7-14F774DC86BC.jpeg
They are shiny because they have been glossed and next stage is a Matt varnish! Took a bit longer that I expected, about two hours each! Slightly strange sculpts, they look a bit like Lions with Wolf heads.....faces were great fun to paint though :thumb2:
The critters from last week have been finished and moved to the cabinet, and the ghosts are just getting to the base painting stage. They should make significant progress this week.
I am also assembling Goblin foot troops in between other tasks. Twenty spearman done, ten bowman in progress....I like doing these between painting tasks as the can get a bit repetitive.....just like single link tracks on a tank!
Cheers, and hope you are having modelling fun.....
Tim

While waiting on some more parts to get here for the Rio Grande Mack I thought I would start this Utility Reefer trailerC61D9772-3F01-4181-AD9D-30AFFEC5EBC6.jpeg49D931CA-DE99-4467-91CF-88E6C81D24BB.jpeg7D5880CA-66E2-495A-962B-F569C1D6D1F9.jpegEB175B9B-8C80-4FE3-8914-112805048A46.jpegC6687B86-278B-4C8A-A2E7-917314A3DC2B.jpeg

Thanks Gentleman. You both should recognize the foundation of this trailer it’s the old Revell honest John Kenworth from 1955

Been having a little play with static grass and making my own bushes this weekend. Not great but it's a starting point. and yes you can still see the pva glue lol

Love the vegetation, esp the flowering plant, just adds that detail. Bob of course will like the StuG which has some great camo

Well as it's the only tank i've done John. It kind of narrowed it down as to which one i was going to use. This is just a play thing though. Testing out some techniques before i make a start on the Ardennes dio.
