I hope the ICM Bronco has the right wing length space between the body and engine sponson. I have to add a shim in the wings and tail for the Testors kit.

Cheers,
Richard

Dutch Army too, until the 1930s when a Society for the Abolition of Cart-Dogs managed to get a law passed that forbade using dogs for pulling carts (in general, not just in the army). Soldiers then had to pull the carts (that had been modified with a drawbar) themselves, giving rise to jokes about setting up a Society for the Abolition of Cart-Soldiers.

Spare boots. Soldiers in many armies and times have been issued two sets of boots, one to wear (obviously) and the other to carry in or on the pack; they were then to alternate wearing them. I’m not sure of the logic behind this, but it wasn’t just the Belgian army of a hundred years ago that did this.

But looking at the test shot, and the thickness of the sole, it appears more like a flip-flop :smiling2:

It's a boot sole - the part that wears out - it was common for each company to have one man who acted as a cobbler. the soles and uppers are stitched together, and each man would have a pair of spare soles ( all ready hob-nailed ). This was across all armies, before mechanised transport, when marching long distances was the norm.

It's that time of the month that Trumpeter & HobbyBoss update their websites with their May introductions:

A really odd statement on the Kinetic Model Facebook page - on Friday, they announced a 1/48 Fiat G91 to be available in summer ( I posted it # 187 )........................
" Concerned about always offering the best quality and the highest level of accuracy, we at Kinetic Model announce the postponement of the release of the 1/48th scale G.91 Gina project to 2022. Let's not only reevaluate the CAD project, but start a new one, with more detail and information to have a 100% accurate model."
There must have been a fundamental error in their model, for them to start again! - I've never seen an announcement like that before!

Maybe for their next attempt, they’re trying to get all three wheels on the ground? ;)

The WW2 RAF Airfield seems to be a re-box with a new artwork.

Cheers,
Richard

Yep, a combined boxing of 3 kits - may be interesting, depending on the price point
Dave
Their Spitfires are a treat to build. I hadn't touched a Spit since I was a kid and also I don't do engines but when I started on one of their kits I went berserk and went the whole nine yards.

Cheers,
Richard

From MiniArt - 'new kit coming soon'
miniart t-54 late transmission.jpg
MiniArt sell the T54 engine & now the transmission separately - the box says 'useful for MiniArt Models Kits' & then lists 4 kits all labelled T-54 & Tiran interior kits - from this, does it mean that the interior kits don't have a full interior?
Dave

I suppose you could display the kit one in place and this one outside to show what it looks like Dave. Bit of a niche within a niche though?

I decided to look at MiniArt’s web site, and kit 37009 includes an engine but no transmission:

You can guess from the transmission deck being closed but everything else visible, and the instructions clearly show an engine being built but no transmission.

On the Takom Facebook page - no further info
takom yamato 15.5cm turret 1-35 01.jpg
In 1/35, that's big! It seems odd, though, that the 18" Yamato turret is in 1/72, and now this is in 1/35 ( Yamato originally had 4 of these turrets, but two were replaced by a myriad of AA guns )

On the Copper State Models Facebook page - no pictures, but plans for the future - more 1/35 WWI armoured cars, and CSM are going to release some in 1/72. CSM are hoping to release, in 1/32, the Bristol Scout, Sopwith Baby & Caudron GIII - which will start to fill the gap left by the demise of Wingnut Wings........................
