Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2021)

Hi all

So another purchase I'm blaming Tim Marlow for - at least in part - as I've been looking to get some better brushes and he strongly recommended these.

Have to say that the packaging itself is almost an art of work and bodes well for the brushes......I suspect I might be getting more supplies from this shop....especially as I asked for a free hardcopy brochure (I'm old fashioned and like to have something to flick through).

ATB.

Andrew

Keep them clean and use them well Andrew.....you should get at least a year out of them, probably much more....looking at the size 1 there I must have worn a good millimetre or so off of the tips on mine and they still hold a good sharp point.

To much of a temptation. View attachment 421444
That looks Great Peter :thumb2:,
I`ve been on the look out for something similar for quite a while now,i`ve always had a yearning to attempt a Diorama of a picture that i have hanging on the stair`s wall....

It would be pretty big,but one day I WILL have a go at gathering the necessary kits:hugging-face:,

P.S...... But NOT the Spit in the Air!!!! :tears-of-joy:

Nice looking brushes there Andrew :thumb2: ...... and if Tim recommends them then they WILL be good;).
Next for my tiny new arrivals,to go along with my current Vietnam Dio idea.......

Not put them together yet,but from the individual pieces they look very nice:cool:,

Thanks Tim. Hopefully they'll last more than a year............especially given my glacial build and figure painting rate!! ;) :smiling5:

Just finished this and waiting for the mojo to create the diorama to strike - it's a classic, the metal barrel is worthwhile (didn't fancy the screen though) - have you noticed the driver has distinctly African-American features?

Just ordered a couple of things, not sure if I'll have much use for them, but cheap enough to sit and do nothing.

Thanks for your thoughts on the kit Steve...... pleased you thought it was cool too:thumb2:!
I agree with the Driver,he certainly does appear to have that look about him........ makes for an eclectic mix:cool:.
As for the Metal barrel,i`ll have a look around, but the single piece, kit supplied one, shouldn`t be too bad i`m guessing?!

This is new Tamiya, from 2019. The old kit looks like an M551 but needs an awful lot of corrections to be a decent replica. This one should be far better.
Hi Jakko,
Well.......,get me suddenly acquiring a Tamiya kit that isn`t at least 30 years old, dunno how that happened!!:flushed::tears-of-joy:
Of course, you are bang on about this being the new one...... I didn`t actually notice,i just really liked the look of it! Judging by the reviews i`ve read since,(and the comments from yourself and Steve),it certainly appears to be a bit of an instant fav!

Must have had my old set about four years and it was beginning to get a bit gnarled and worse for ware so treaded my self to a new one

Do let us know how you get on with it — I’ve always liked the M551, and started correcting the old Tamiya kit once upon a time but never did finish it (what else is new? :)). If this one looks good I might just get me one too …
