Ah the Race Towers Mail room always a fun place to hang out when packages arrive. Nice score John.

I wouldn’t mind building an M50 Ontos, but Academy is not really my favourite manufacturer. They get too many minor things just a little wrong, if you ask me. But if it’s the only choice … (Well, other than the old resin Nimix kit.)

Tamiya pleeeeease! Make my day

During a wonderful B/Holiday in the Mendips, I always like to support any local model shops while I am away. I came across Signals in Midsomer Norton and had a nice time being looked after by the owner Mike. Although predominantly a model railway shop he did have a large selection of scale models, accessories, paints and tools. So well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I also went to one of the largest Car Boots I have ever been to, at Cheddar on Sunday. I came across a guy who had some water damaged model kits. He was asking a £10 for each one as he knew nothing about the condition of the kits. All the boxes were sealed so it was a bit of a gamble to what I was buying.

The Panzer IV turned out to be a box of bits which I pretty much figured would be the case because of the stickers on the box. Got some wheels and crates so not too bad

The Panzer I ausf C was a complete kit but someone had already started it by doing the lower hull and the figures. Not too much damage done so should be a nice build once done

The best of the bunch was the Grasshopper which was a complete and an untouched kit. The destructions are water damaged but I will download these so no problem there.

I haggled him down to £25 so very pleased with the outcome. Happy modelling everyone

If you’d gone another ten miles South East from Midsomer Norton you could have also investigated the Frome model centre Steve. It’s well worth a visit if you are up that way again.....

I buy from him online every so often. Unfortunately to little time and too much to do. Hoping to be around Warminster in July (Lockdown permitting) so I will pop in then. Many thanks

Have fun in Warminster. It’ll be difficult, but I’m sure it can be done if you try hard Steve :tongue-out3:

Postie just delivered this
DSCF1725.JPG
Wooden deck, railings & anchor chain for my Zvezda 1/350 Varyag.
I ordered this on 22nd May, delivered today ( 1st ) just over £12 - nice! I bought it via AliExpress - I've bought some electronics from them in the past, but this is my first model related purchase, and it may not be the last!
No benchtime for the last few days, I've been off colour ( diabetes related ), and spent a lot of time flaked out on my settee!

Sounds like a bargain!
Sun's out you'll feel better soon mate :thumb2:

Dave,
Have also used this site before - be careful of the "resin" figures that some stores offer - they are not all that brilliant,
some can be like the old Airfix 32nd scale figures in that soft vinyl.

Paul.

Paul,
loads of knock-off resin busts as well! - They even use the genuine makers pictures! really cheeky! :disappointed2:
Gearbest are similar to AliExpress, but concentrate more on electronics. One to be wary of is 'Wish' - I reckon 90% of their stuff is copies, knock offs, or just plain dodgy!

My last two pressies showed up yesterday. I would say I was good to myself and I'm a happy camper to boot. Got the Ju-88 A1,

The box bottom looks like it got run over by a cross town bus, but the parts are not damaged at all,

Of course, for the wing thingies I've bought lately, I needed to have some accessoires for them,

I think I need to up my beer meds intake...........................And find a new apartment too....................................

You could alway rent a storage unit Allen......a mate of mine did that to house his record collection.........

Unfortunately Tim, there is nothing offered like that around here where I live. If there was, my rucksack is not big enough to go and pick up the kits to bring back home that I want to build anyway. It's hard when you ride a bicycle..............
