As I was walking across the attic from one bench to the other airbrush in hand I heard something hit the floor, no rolling, clattering just one sharp sound. What was that I thought? then looked at the airbrush which was now missing the paint cup lid. Now the lid is not a tiny thing and its shiny chrome so will be easy to see.................wrong.
I have spend about half an hour crawling about the floor, moving stuff and searching for it to no avail, how can you lose something like that? As my temper was rising I gave up and left it, I will look again tomorrow and see if it turns up, if not I will have to buy a new lid which looking at Iwata spares prices is not cheap. I know the easiest way to find it is to buy a new lid and the old one will mysteriously appear.

Andy.

In a scenario like that I normally find a piece I lost 3 kits ago...:upside:

Hope it turns up for you mate.

Hope you find it Andy. As you say, it’s not small……might be worth using a torch when you search again, looking for a glint from a reflection.

Oh no! Has your carpet monster mutated and developed the ability to eat metal?!

That's what I do.... Also sometimes turn the lights out too of that's an option....

The Carpet Monster is using it as a plate. When you do find it check for gravy stains :tongue-out3:

Possibly it's on edge against/behind something? (Don't ask how I know things like that happen! :tongue-out3: )

Do people actually use the cup lids ,never used one cant see the point of them ,only put them back on to pack the airbrush away. Sorry perhaps I'm just a slob work bench is bad enough without trying to spray upside down. :tongue-out3: ;):tongue-out3::thumb2:

Have used a multiled flashlight (very bright) laying it on the floor to find potential victims lying on the floor.

I do sometimes, on my Aztek. It depends largely on whether I find myself pointing the airbrush in different directions a lot or not. Sure, the Aztek’s cup can be rotated through 360 degrees so it’s always up if you need it to be, but this can be a little awkward if you alternate a lot between spraying horizontally and down on a model, and the lid then helps.

Other than that, though, I usually leave it off.
