A new suit of armour - LAV-25 style.

Hi Mike
Great stuff. Hope the hand gets better soon. Blame the squirrel not the dog. Our Belle, God rest her, always considered squirrels as cheats. It just wasn't cricket to climb a tree rather than play chase properly. She was such a soft dog I honestly don't think she would have hurt anything. She once found a baby blackbird and just gently snuffled it.

The bruising on the hand is starting to appear, but still cannot push down with the fingers so the thumb is working overtime. But it is funny how you soon find out who your friends are when you are stuck on the throne..... :relieved:

Update,
Got the base coat onto all the parts that needed it and set it aside toy dry - 24 hours later gave the whole lot a wash with W&N Burnt Umber and have let that dry out for 36 hours.
I have started to add some of the stowage, mainly because the finish on the boxes is a bit glossy, so these will get a coat of matt varnish along with the rest...

Also built up the stretcher which is now in paint and will be added later...

Pretty sure it’s frowned upon to photoshop reference photo’s of the real thing onto a work bench…

Agree with Rick, the exhaust and the weathering around it are brilliant, it does in deed make all the difference.

Hoppity Skip.
Sorry to read about the hand , bet Yvonne was sympathetic .or maybe not ! :smiling3:

Cheers Rick,
The two sink marks on the turret hatches will be attended to, they look like moon craters in the pics.

Cheers John,
The hand is becoming usefull again - friends will be relieved as I am.... You get no sympathy in this house unless you have four legs :tears-of-joy:.
The exhaust - all pigments - start with a light rust scrubbed into the paint, then a ring of medium rust and then an inner patch of dark rust. Then I rub the whole lot with a tissue to bring out the base colour and blend it all together.
How are the ears, I did reply to your email, did you get it?

It's not the size - it is what you do with it that makes them howl at the moon.... :smiling4::upside:...
