I seem to remember Simon cutting a Stug IV into so many bits it was more like reassembling sushi than building a kit…..….Another hour at the bench. Some fiddly parts added, hull and turret dry fitted and tank primed. Just some small retouch here and there (handles, mainly). Next time is hissing stick time...
:hungry:
The main mistake in this kit is the turret: it's too narrow by almost 1 cm. (0,4 in), but I haven't the guts to gut the turret :cold-sweat: as a friend of mine did (see pic below - pic for discussion only) while building the last version, the one deployed to Iraq. Please also note the difference between his gun barrel (the right one) and the kit one (the one on my tank).
...and this brings my memory back to the awesome and inspiring job Simon T did resizing a StuG that was too large ... :crying:.

Sorry these farm tractors keep making it to my bench
Looks great Lee. Love the way the design keeps the operator as far away from the stinky end as possible as well….Sorry these farm tractors keep making it to my bench here’s what I’m working on
Its a custom scratch built manure bucket. The tractor is a Farmall 300 the lift device came off of a international Farmall 544. These are 1/16 scale
Thanks Alan I just enjoy building these tractors and customizing them more than anything else right now. Hope to have some updates soonNo need to be sorry Lee. Keep em coming :smiling3:
Paul glad you like it it a exciting project that’s been poking my brain for several months.A little gem.
Thanks Rick. That’s funny right there. I have to find some special Staples for the “Forks” on the bucket hope to find a place soon.Nice bucket work there Lee.......a king sized Sh*t shovel if I ever saw one! :tongue-out3::thumb2: Rick H.
Thanks Tim. Never thought of that but a good idea. When your a Farm Boy like me that just smells like money you get immune to it. LolLooks great Lee. Love the way the design keeps the operator as far away from the stinky end as possible as well….
Nice work Richard. I'm loving experimenting with Dave's track recipe. It's such a brilliantly simple idea!!Something (very) different on the bench yesterday: TEAC turntable 1:1 scale.

No output on the left channel so I checked the wiring. First problem: the disconnected red wire. Solved/soldered, but no output yet. There must be some other broken circuit/wire elsewhere... To be investigated...
Today the bench is busy with something more traditional:

NATO green livery on. All parts are dry fitted as the wheels will need some retouching and tracks still miss the rubber pads painting after they've been coated with Dave's track paint recipe to which I added some "rust" (all Humbrol enamels) :thumb2: .
Interesting shot of the Teac part. Have you checked the cartridge end connections? Those wires are so very fine it’s easy to knock them off if the tonearm is accidentally handled badly….Something (very) different on the bench yesterday: TEAC turntable 1:1 scale.
