Tim,
oh dear - 2nd dose? I'm keeping my head down & avoiding contact ( not difficult when I don't get out much ). I do all my grocery shopping online & have a Tesco Food Convoy every two weeks ( I've been doing this ever since I retired ).
I looks like the GP service is very patchy. My local clinic ( 5 or 6 doctors ) is excellent - you can book an appointment online, and they text you to confirm & remind you. You can usually get to see a doctor within the week ( difficult one to get to see is the practise nurse, who does my Diabetic care ).
One thing I would recommend, if you are on repeat medication ( like me ), is to use a prescription service. I've been using Pharmacy2U since I retired. I order my medication online, they contact the GP & get the prescription, make it up & send by Royal Mail - sending me emails to keep me up to date. I get all my meds this way, including insulin, which is sent in an insulated box, with ice packs! A lot of the Chemists offer this sort of service - it beats having to queue at your local Boots' to pick up repeats! The only thing to watch out for is public holidays, and I don't depend on their reminders to order meds. They say ten days in advance, but it's more like 5 before stuff is delivered, however better safe than sorry. I've never had a moments problem with this, although occasionally the Royal Mail slips a day or so!
