As many of you know I've been extremely careful over the last two years to self isolate. Having all the shopping delivered and thus keeping away from crowds.
Unfortunately and I've no idea how, I've managed to get a really bad chest infection . Having asthma combined with a infection is not the best , especially when COVID is around .

Having evaded people in general I've not caught the normal winter type cold until now . Some years ago my then doctor agreed I should always have an emergency pack of Steroids and Amoxicillin so I can start treatment the minute I know rather than wait for an appointment which could take days , now of course we can't get a face to face one .

Having replaced the pack as the years went I started the new one for the week . Thank goodness the online chemist the same as Dave uses Chemist 4 U are on top of there game because my replacement pack came with in a day of the doctors prescription being sent . Just caught all the mail right .
Still coughing and feeling like :poop: one minute and ok the next . I've not had the best of nights lying down so spend a lot of the night searching UTube and sitting in bed .Falling a sleep around 7, still sitting up and getting up mid day .
Not done a lot at the bench, been playing with some 1/72 stuff ( You can guess what ) and some figures .
Certainly something I would recommend, just to see what small parts are !
No gardening , which is sad as it's just too cold , just keeping warm and catching up on here .

We never appreciate being well do we !

Sorry to read about your health issue John, very different ways of distributing medicine. Here the GP administers the medication so you don't need to do another trip to the pharmacy. But if you need more, then a prescription from GP is required at the pharmacy. Other off the counter medications can be prescribed by the pharmacist.
I too have a tendency to develop asthma later in my life as diagnosed by my GP but it has started because of the corvid vaccinations in spurts but have gone with respitory medications.
Being careful doesn't always help as your body needs to familiarise certain viruses to develop immunity and get stronger for the next attack. The cold weather doesn't help matters for you too.
Stay strong and safe.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi John
Sorry to hear you're not well. Take things easy and give yourself time to recover. The modelling and the gardening can wait.
Take care.

Bad news JR. Hang on in there my mate. You will be back to your young self soon so you can get back doing the things you want. If I ask Christine I'm sure she will tell me you are being a good patient :smiling5: :smiling5: ;) :thumb2:

Speak soon my friend

Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with a chest inf John.
Glad you have got your meds sorted so hopefully will be feeling better soon and be able to get out into your garden :thumb2:

Geoff.

Not good news John. Hope you improve sooner rather than later. Stay warm, take plenty of fluids, and use paracetamol as required.
To be absolutely honest though, the symptoms you have described sound exactly like you have the current strain of covid. I was like that for about three days before I tested positive, so was absolutely convinced I had something else. My wife is now like it as well. She started showing similar symptoms yesterday, is worse today, and is also still testing negative! I personally think it’s one of the reasons the incidence of Covid in the UK is so high at present. The current crop of LFTs don’t seem to pick up infection until it is well established and you’ve already spread it around.

Sorry to read you're not too good 453.
I presumed, just like me, that with the nice weather we had, sticking bits of plastic together was shelved....The outside called. Sad to read this was not the case.

Take care and get yourself up and running asap.

Regards to all at Race Towers.

John,
these things take their own sweet time, you can treat some of the symptoms, but the virus is a different matter! Pharmacy2U made a big difference - I'd been using them from well before COVID, but the torture of going to the chemists & standing in a queue with the masks & keeping your distance ( our Boots is tiny - 6 people is the max. you can get in! ) is something I gladly have missed. A plus is that usually people wanting prescriptions have some illness, so keeping away from them is sensible ( like hospitals - just full of sick people ).
I have a reclining chair in the living room, and If I can't sleep, I make a mug of tea ( Rooibos! ), snuggle up in a wrap in the chair & read, then drift off - I often wake up at the normal time in the chair, but because it's a recliner, I don't seem to get any aches & pains ( like you would in a normal chair ).
The COVID affair has had an effect on all of us - personally, I think my mental health has suffered - I seem to have developed agorophobia - nothing disastrous, but feeling uneasy when I'm away from home, it doesn't stop me from going out, but I'm relieved when I get home! I reckon if people really thought about behaviour before & after, they may make some discoveries!
