Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Andy,
last purchase for the year? in April? - C'mon, who are you trying to kid?? :rolling:
Dave
Yeah,I know Dave....
But recently I've bought FAR too many kits.. and I mean FAR TOO MANY!!.....
As if I didn't have too many in the first place!! ;)
Andy

Hi all

So these are my daughter's fault....honest.....nothing to do with a lack of backbone at all!! ;) :smiling5:

She has become something of bookworm in the past six months or so and has discovered that a book wholesalers in Hemel Hempstead that only normally sells to the trade and schools, opens their doors to the general public once a month. You can only buy in person and also have to join as a member for the grand sum of £2 per annum for the whole household.

In return you get 70% off the RRP.......repeat 70%.....just to reiterate 70%!!!

Whilst I might have been able to get these cheaper second hand - just......even Amazon can't compete with them....

RRP was £65......Amazon like-for-like £47......excluding the £2 membership fee, I paid £19.50 for these or £3.90 each.

It would therefore have been rude not to I think you'll agree! ;) ;) :smiling5: :smiling5:

Seeing the Eric Brown book - I can highly recommend "Wings of the Luftwaffe - Flying the captured German Aircraft of World War II" by him - very interesting!

Is that the one where he basically said flying the He 177 Grief scared him to death because he thought the engines were going to fail all the time Dave?
Shall I mention that it’s Eben-Emael? ;)
You can say what you like Jakko, I’m blaming spellchecker anyway. I’m just lucky it never changed it to Evan’s email….. LOL.

Great buys guys (in a poetic way),

I have been a good boy of late, not like a certain member here who will remain un-named (is that ok, Mr. Smiff?), but I needed to get a certain, next to the last piece, for my puzzle. I do have the last piece on the way too. Hard to find at a decent price, even from the maker,

A decent casting for it's age and cleanup is pretty easy with only a few air bubble pin holes to fix and they're tiny. At €59 delivered, it was a pretty big chunk of cash out of the wallet................

I had great visit to the RAF museum at Hendon today and somehow came away with this. I've read good things about it. View attachment 450803

Plus model have three points.
Make unusual models
Make them good and well detailed
Charge a fortune for them.

After yonkers of rummaging around in a draw to find a particular colour paint I have bough me some racks!

Hannants’ Colindale shop is a five minute walk up the street from the museum; always an expensive day out!
Is it? .... Never knew that...... That's a bad thing to tell someone with a lack of backbone when it comes to this hobby...... ;) :smiling5:

Wanted one of these to complement my Fruehauf crane! Been unlucky so far, therefore the diorama awaits!
