X20 or X20A? The difference is that X20 is a thinner for enamels while X20A is for acrylics, which is probably going to matter for something like this :smiling3:
Sorry your right my bag it should be X20A
Definitely does, thanks. I'd not thought of X-20 as a pigment fixer.
Jim
Jim apologies that should read X20A.

Looks the BOMB!! (shouting) Scottie and thanks for the tip on the pigments......just checked and I do have X20A so I'll be trying this trick on my next dirtied up vehicle build. :thumb2:

Beautiful Scottie , nice 'oink'ment tips too.:smiling2:

Cheers,
Richard

Rick, no worries mate. If you have an old build I would have a practice on that first. It is a simple process but needs a bit of practice.

Coming on nicely indeed. Great work.

ATB.

Andrew
Cheers Andrew glad you approve.

Love the results so far Paul…keep the magic coming
Cheers Joe, no magic just luck mate.

Looks the part Paul another amazing build
Cheers Lee, very kind of you.

Steve Jones kindly pointed out that the decals at wrong. The instructions just show the black circle being applied to the front and rear there are how ever two more decals for each black spot to make up the correct marking. Not being an expert in vehicle markings I had no idea and I am glad he pointed it out. Why RFM chose to do this I have no idea it seems strange to have to use 3 decals to make one sign. I guess because it is a swastika.

The markings have now been resolved and thanks again to Steve for pointing it out.

and corrected.

next some work done on the tracks.

Sprayed firstly with Tamyia flat black then hull red. Next the pigment process as per the hull. The wear areas were then burnished with a graphite pencil. Not easy to see in the pictures.

Is that markings for Wiking Division?

I'm not going to add a lot of clutter to this but decided to hang some crew items on the back of the turret bin.

The jerry can you can see in the picture I have removed and I will repaint it I wasn't happy with the result.

I am now really struggling for an idea as to a base.......Any ideas??

cheers
Scottie

If it was in North Africa finish I would suggest a gently sloping sand dune with those nice, wavy patterns in the sand and a cow skull in it. Unfortunately, that’s an unlikely option with these colours and markings :)

Tall grass of the Russian steppe?

I was thinking the same. Given the markings it has to be eastern front.

Field of sunflowers? It would be an interesting juxtaposition of yellows….

Glad you were able to sort the decals. Eastern front seems to need either a whole load of mud or grassy plain. Forget mud - the model is too nice for that ;)
