Royal Marines land at the Hook of Holland . May 12th 1940. To aid the Dutch naval contingent including Korps Mariners, ( Netherlands Marine Corps ), evacuate Queen Wilhelmina , Dutch government and refugees.
Both marine contingents fought together becoming comrades.

"No toerags 'ere" as in we're all alright and good mates.
Also both Dutch and British marines, having long histories dating back to the years of sail, would be familiar with the toerag and now on land would have to bury it!
For the not so floaty mob, a toerag was a rag of hemp cloth towed on a rope in the sea to wipe the lads bums.

Love it...now I might add a toerag dangling from the front bit of my Constipation...don't know what it's called.

Cheers,
Richard

I like it!

I always thought that toerag was a slang term for the nomadic tribes of North Africa - Tuareg.

Uhhh Richard, If you're constipated, you probably don't need one of these hanging off anywhere..........Just saying.........

Andy,
(BTW,I usually refer to my very first Dio/vignette as being "a bit of a crap effort"..... May have to rethink that phrase after seeing this!!).

Thanks to yours and Mr Races advice on blacking out a dio base before painting, got me started on a vignette to practice on. I recently acquired a soldering iron (hence the shovel) this seemed the only way to go. So thank to you and John for dem tips!
Cheers Rob
