I normally scratchbuild British trams in 7mm but having a break to make a start on the Airfix Bentley

Hi Terry
Welcome to a great forum. It would be nice to see pictures of your trams, a subject we rarely see. The Bentley is an iconic kit.

This is from a few years ago, scratchbuilt Belfast chamberlain tram in 7mm scale

Terry,
It's a very warm welcome from me. That is a great looking build I look forward to seeing you and your builds around the site.

Welcome Terry,
Nice tram! I can just remember the last tram in Sheffield - 1960! & several visits to the Tramway Museum in Crich
A bit of a change of scale, from 7mm to 1/12!
Dave

Hi Terry. Welcome to the forum. Lovely scratchbuilt tram, and great to see it weathered rather than museum condition. What is your material of choice for those?

Hi terry welcome to the forum , tram looks superb , excuse my ignorance but what would 7mm equate to in ratio scales ie. 1/72 , 1/48 etc ? Cheers tony

It equates to 1/43 scale. Always seems odd how metric and imperial are used together like that.

Welcome Terry , and what a model tram . We don't see many as Jim righly said .

Hi Terry, out of interest what track standard do these run on? I assume it’s one of the O gauge derivatives, but I know that comes in three or four flavours ;)

Welcome to the "Mad House" Terry, I model in 3.5mm scale, so don't feel odd about dabbling in 7mm! :smiling: As Dave said, that is quite a jump up to 1/12th scale. I look forward to seeing your build thread when you start it.

Welcome Terry - an impressive piece of scratchery! (There are others here who dabble in arcane scales - very weird! -and better eyesight than some of us, that's for sure!)

Standard gauge comes out at 32mm, Belfast trams ran on 4'9" track
