Sir your bench is far too clean and tidy, I believing Jim has you as a premier member of his TBC
Other than that congratulations on producing such a model .

That’s my painting bench John. I try to keep as much dust off it as I can. My build bench is covered in crap, like everyone else’s. I could probably qualify for both tidy and untidy bench club membership at the same time LOL….
Oh, and cheers for the compliment.

Nothing wrong with a clean bench John, it helps you find things!

Just in case John thinks I’m letting the side down, here’s the build bench…..at least, the bit of it I can actually build on….

Serious slowing down here at the moment. I’m suffering from an acute flare in my RA. It left me almost unable to walk, especially overnight and first thing in the morning, really painful shoulders and elbows, and with no fine motor functions in my hands. By far the worst attack I’ve had so far. Starting to improve now though due to being prescribed stronger anti inflammatory meds. Should start on biologic meds in the next few weeks, so hopefully that will markedly improve things. Not looking for sympathy, just explaining why updates have been sluggish….

Anyway, enough prattling….I’ve plugged through some of the internals….

Bomb bay is done. Unfortunately my hands wouldn’t let me do the candle colour and fill rings on the bomb, so it’s just staying black…..

Eduard IP added alongside the remaining kit parts. Chrome bands done on undercart tanks ( don’t know what they do, possibly compressed air?)…and supplementary radios?
Cheers all

Fully understandable Tim, but your work is still very impressive and well done. Please take care of yourself first, the modelling can commence later when you feel better, and I hope that's not too far off Sir...

Gute Besserung

No worries Allen. I managed to keep going through the worst, even if it was only working a few minutes at a time. It was that or go bloody mad in front of the idiot box. Couldn’t even read at one point because I couldn’t hold the book up

Blimey Tom, you need to get out more :tongue-out3: Thanks for the support though.

Hi Tim

Sorry to hear about your RA and hope is continues to calm down. Despite your problems it's coming on nicely!

As for the tanks, they're actually oil tanks....I thought they might be air tanks or something similar but was reading my Haynes Mosquito manual only yesterday when I cam across this under "Oil".....

"Two 15 3/4gal self-sealing oil tanks were provided, one in each engine nacelle above and between the undercarriage legs..." (Pg 120)

It then goes onto describe how the oil system works.

Like you everyone I have noticed that everyone has painted them a reddy brown colour but on the next page it shows them being green but it is one that's been/being restored and so comes with the usual caveat that goes with restorations.

ATB
