Great work mick , the additions to the undercarriage look excellent , really makes a difference . Decals look lovely too , good call on the blue fin scheme Cheers tony
Many thanks Tony. I'm just having a few issues with white paint and there's a ton of it in the undercarriage. My old favourite undercoat was a rattle can from GW but their new recipe is rubbish. It dries almost grey then had a reaction when I've airbrushed Vallejo Air white on it. Fortunately it's not too obvious so onwards I goGreat work mick , the additions to the undercarriage look excellent , really makes a difference . The GW stuff used to be fantastic - years ago my son used to do the warhammer figures and when he stopped I gained a load of his paints . They were superb , brushing lovely , great coverage and excellent colours ( though the names could be a bit mental - snot green , vomit brown , scab red !!?) then a few years ago they changed the formula and introduced all different types - base , glaze , wash , highlights . I tried a few but couldnt get on with them , whereas before they could just be used straight out of the bottle , now it was a multi stage layering process ,which I imagine is fine for figures but a little OTT if i just want to paint an undercarriage leg or an instrument panel. Many thanks Tony. If you still want them Tony, apparently Coat D’Armes paint is the same stuff……The GW stuff used to be fantastic - years ago my son used to do the warhammer figures and when he stopped I gained a load of his paints . I used to game regularly and as you say the paints were great and yes I know times change but the whole thing just seemed to get over complicated along with the constant changing of rules and updating armies very regularly. I know they have to make money but the cost of some stuff now is eye watering :smiling:The GW stuff used to be fantastic - years ago my son used to do the warhammer figures and when he stopped I gained a load of his paints . I think that’s the same paint as the one before the one before the one before the current GW line … That is, the same as in the old, narrow hexagonal pots, not the later, wider hexagonal pots with screw lids or those with flip-tops, never mind the paints that came after with all the different layering nonsense that makes it really hard to paint with.If you still want them Tony, apparently Coat D’Armes paint is the same stuff……
They have come out with contrast paint now so you are one behind Jakko. Supposed to replace the base and layer stuff in one coat……personally I just learned how to do it all with Vallejo model colour and a wet palette LOLI think that’s the same paint as the one before the one before the one before the current GW line … That is, the same as in the old, narrow hexagonal pots, not the later, wider hexagonal pots with screw lids or those with flip-tops, never mind the paints that came after with all the different layering nonsense that makes it really hard to paint with.
No way are you permanently covering that up Mick......I wasn’t going to include the next bit of the model as I was going to secure the nose cone permanently but when you have ten minutes to spare
