Mine were cooked……not playground foraging……they were part of a so called taster menu at a good restaurant in the Cotswolds where we went for our twenty fifth anniversary a few years ago. Her indoors wouldn’t touch them, but I thought “what the hell”, you won’t know unless you try them ……not sure I’d have them again though,…..... Did you know that a lot of the snails eaten in France are (at least were, before Brexit) imported from Wales? Raised on a farm near Cowbridge. I've eaten snails in Angouleme, as well as frogs' legs. Wouldn't bother with either again though.
