What's on the Bench 2023

So this is currently on the bench and I think I'll start a build thread on this little beauty. This is the cleanest cast resin kit I have ever seen in 1-87 scale. Wall thickness is very thin for the scale and the surfaces ae so smooth I thought it was a styrene kit when I first opened it. Tip 'O the Hat to WSW (Wings Ships Wheels) for their extremely precise workmanship!
WOW!!! Simply oustanding!

I haven't been posting anything for some months as my focus was on other issues and, last but not least, my bench average temperature during winter is 6/7 °C (44 °F), which is definitely outside my comfort zone.
But I haven't been totally idle and thanks to Warren's idea (LINK HERE) I made a paint drawer for my bench

While attending to other house chores, I managed to inch forward on this small build, a 1/72 RE 2005 just to keep in touch with plastic and glue.

and had my old hi-fi system working again (in the end it was an amplifier problem, solved by having the equalizers - the 3 empty slots are visible on the left of the ampli - removed by a specialist).

Last but not least, even if not directly related to my bench, I'm planning to attend to the following show in the near future (how could I miss it! :smiling:)

Andrea
I keep looking at that draw storage idea but I think my wife would not approve given that I model in our kitchen.....

3rd squad.

1st Squad armor & sturmboot. This MkIII has an interesting backstory. A pioneer officer thought it was a good idea to modify some old MKIIIs to hump bridge materials for an Ost front river crossing mission. Afterwards, upper was not impressed & ordered them restored. This one's paperwork was lost.

Trucked 1st squad.
Yet again great work Paul. Very well done indeed!!

My mistake it was actually 192 parts to make up the plugs and leads! Coming off the bench for a while for a wingy GB.20230509_211711.jpg20230509_211414.jpg20230509_210956.jpg

It doesn't matter how parts Mark, the engine is a work of art Buddy!!! Who's colors did you use for the brass and copper and did you spray them??? They look so real and smooth too...

Prost

That looks like it would run …
Cheers guys,
Allen ive used vallejo metal for the aluminium, mr hobby aqueous, black, red and the brass is just a mr hobby gold gloss although they do a brass metal colour paint in the mr color laquer range and the copper is mr color super metallic 2 and sprays very nicely in fact on that basis i have ordered a load of mr color for my wingy gb build.
I have some tubes of ak true metal brass and copper i will go over with and polish .

Well, Mark. You showed us your reference pictures... when will you post the pictures of your model? :smiling4: :rolling: :tongue-out2:

Whenever my mojo flags I turn to "....those damned engineers....". They never fail to perk me up. Here are WIP engineer elements. An M2 Treadway platoon, elements of a Dora Bridge platoon, & elements of Baily & Footbridge platoons.
Potentials on the bench.

The gap here is for the potential Baily bridge elements currently on the bench.

Great stuff Paul... looking forward to the potentials on the bench! My eye did spy an Autocar U 8144 T...how sweet it is! ;)

Those damn engineers Paul!!! Great looking stuff and the bench looks even better Buddy. Lucky I was a 12B and not a 12C bridge specialist. Those bridge parts weighed a ton when you had to play with them...

Prost
