Oh dear it's a 1/72 Bristol Beveldere

Wow, Richard. This is really being brought to another level. Superb scratchery.

You mean you actually get off the sofa, relinquish the remote and dare to make the inside of the fridge untidy looking for a tin of coke, you do realise they are stacked in user order and not random..... :tears-of-joy:
Yes I did just like playing Jenga. I think God got lazy and used the same template when he made SWMBOs...they all behave and sound alike.
Enjoyed reading the escapades you fellas had with the Bell whirliebird.
That's a great job on the canopy and cargo door.
Thanks Jim. Glad you like it.

Thank you too John.
Outstanding work with the doors.
Ian, much obliged.

Today I corrected the fairing shape on the door slide...

And painted the inside face black before gluing the other half of the canopy.

Nice work so far Richard. A lot of effort is going into your build to transform this old kit into a gem
Thanks Joe, appreciate you stopping by and commenting.

The next shot will give nightmares to anyone working on clear parts but don't worry it's still WIP and just test fitting. Lots to tidy up, polish, dipped in Future, glue down and masked for more joints to be filled and smoothen. The little bump above the canopy I made fits well. I won't be able to rid of the center seam line running the base of the canopy as it's a joint. I wonder why Airfix didn't give a separate piece for it. That would be the only blemish I will have to live with and it's too much to vacform.

It does indeed look rather a mess. It looks to fit OK and your additions are spot on. I have no doubt that once the canopy is polished back it will be fine. I'd be interested to see how you go about the polishing.
Fine work as always.

It does doesn't it, Jim...left the joint to harden further before sanding again. Meanwhile I worked on the office...
Did the overhead console...will stick that onto the canopy after the Future dipping.

The following additions are safety belts from painted masking tape and plastic strip buckles, cyclic from wire and putty, collective from plastic rod, putty and fine wire, trim wheel from sliced rod and pedals.

I know the seats aren't supposed to have headrests but I thought they looked good and left them on. The cyclic handles are out of scale...with the naked eye they look okay. If it weren't for the open door I wouldn't have done all this.

I use SWMBO's fingernail foam sanding block for clear parts. It has shape, smooth, buff & shine grades & works great.

I use two grades of sand paper, Auto rubbing compound and Tamiya polishing compound with a final dip of Future, Paul.
That cockpit really looks the part. Your additions make all the difference.
Thanks Jim, sorry I forgot to take photos of the process but to let you know it will still looked slightly cloudy before the dip and you'll see the miracle happen...just look at the result.

People always make the mistake of airbrushing Future over the clear canopy which blurrs the whole clear part.
Love the cockpit. Brilliant.
Thanks Doug, I like it too.

Great work with the canopy Richard, it doesn't look like the same part. Pity about the seam line though.

Sadly the seam line stays as the glue joint cannot be get at. Anyway it will only show in the bottom of the canopy as the rest will be covered by the painted frame

Here it is test fitted again...

The dash board IP and overhead console has been attached.

I'm complaining about issues in 1/24 scale and you're doing this great work in tiny scale

Every bit of this build has just been outstanding. The improved cockpit - just another level entirely.
