Well, with the amount of biplanes I've got / doing / BUILD ME! I've gone and got this
Hobbyzone - AJ01.jpg
The Hobbyzone AJ-01 Aircraft building jig. That's it put together ( a whole days work!), and the Hawker Horsely (1/72) In there for scaling.
And ALREADY it's giving me problems with bolts and butterfly nuts...
Still, needs must, and the smaller one is no longer available!

I've got plenty of my favourite curved #15 blades to last me for years but I was getting low on straight ones.

I also bought another retractable handle while I was at it.

Horrendous postage costs that I didn't notice until after I'd ordered. I'm so used to Amazon Prime that I forget to check!

With my fascination for research types and always ready for a challenge I paid thirty pounds on eBay for this

Maintrack - Project X, Handley Page HP88

pic (1).jpgpic (2).jpg

The seller neglected to pay enough postage, cost me £3.50 to accept it from the nice postie lady

Miko (my last vacuform was an Aeroclub EE P1 [Lightning predecessor] )

Couple of kits for my stash and a pot of black for the Night-Fighter Hurricane currently on the bench.

This one will be build as the 'Empire Test Pilot School' T5 XS422 only in 'full' raspberry ripple!

Lightning T5 (1).jpgLightning T5 (2).jpg

Miko (every aircraft type that served at Boscombe Down and Farnborough had the red white and blue testing colours applied except the Lightning, why?)

Delivery at Towers this afternoon.1000001401.jpg
Very detailed time line which is most helpful.
Uniforms covered as well with both ww2 photos and reenactors.

I bit the bullet and bought a new airbrush compressor, an AS186, which seems to have been highly regarded on this forum.
I have been using a 20 year old 25lt very noisy beast of a compressor that was a problem to keep moving around at 25kg, so here is the new baby that only weighs 5kg.

On another forum recently, there was talk about this book (well, the UK edition) so I went looking for it, and found a copy for sale in the Netherlands, which I bought right away. This is the American edition published by Squadron/Signal, but oddly, in A4 size — I guess to avoid having to reduce it in size to fit American paper.

(For those who’ve never heard of it, this is a compilation of articles on basic and more advanced modelling techniques published in Military Modelling magazine in the 1980s, written by Bryan Fosten under the pseudonym Stan Catchpol.)

I'll bet that book, Jakko, will be a fascinating read. Modelling 40 years ago.

I never realised Stan Catchpole and the great illustrator Brian Fosten (The thin red line, by Bryan and his brother Don, is one of the great British uniform references) were one and the same…….cheers for that Jakko :thumb2:

Whilst I haven't had any benchtime - I can't resist a good bargain................
icm laffly.jpg
£18.70 delivered!!
The suspension looks really complicated - 4 wheel drive, independent suspension with four propshafts - oh, and 4 small anti bottoming wheels -and it looks ODD

Heard that described as looking like it’s “giving birth to a jeep”. Such a great description I thought it worth repeating…..
