Thanks Scottie and Neil,
It was Wesak holiday today celebrated by Buddhist. But because SWMBO was home little was done at the bench. I still managed this...
IMG_20240522_225005.jpg
Just to show there is a war going on I placed rubble in the corner spilling from out of the vignette perimeter into the scene. Probably a demolished building along the street.
IMG_20240522_224922.jpg
To keep it clean and presentable the back is covered and the contours of the edge cut into it. Rubble yet to be painted in black and touched up in colour. Bricks are cut from cork board and the backing edges burnt with an incense stick.
That's about it for tonight.

Thanks for sticking with this, I'm surprised it's progressing quite quickly.

Cheers,
Wabble

Just caught up again Richard, really liking the pigeons, great work on them. The base is looking fantastic too.

Fantastic work richard , the rubble and his gear on the bench are superb, cheers tony

Thanks Jim, Ian and Tony, yes it's the little stuff that gets the attention when doing vignettes. Pigeons would be fun arranging and both the gear and rubble will be individually painted soon.
At the moment I have fitted the hedge...
IMG_20240523_223112.jpg
The hedge was done overgrown due to years of neglect at the back of the fence. The yellow stuff is sponge for moss which I will gradually peel off in bits and paint later. Still lots to do.

BTW behind the scene...you will never get the perfect foliage so building it up piece by piece is necessary. As you can see the trunks are supported by tooth picks tied with fine wire and glued. Most of it is hidden with extra brush and leaves. I'm adding shrubs and tall grass to hide the rest. Then I'll base paint with black and highlight with shades of green.

Cheers,
Wabble

That is just wonderful Richard. Really building up well. Strikes me that when the pigeons finally get added you’ve got to put one on his helmet ;)

Late Wabble ,very sorry indeed .
As expected superb as we have come to expect.Love the whole idea.
Wobble .

This is absolutely marvellous, what a wonderfully simple yet superbly detailed piece of work.

That's exactly what I was going to do which will fit the title Bombs Away. Thanks Tim, I'm surprised it has taken only just over a month to get this far.

Thanks Jim, John, Paul and Arnold, no worries if you're late but this is an unexpected fast build from me. Usually the snail overtakes me on the highway when I build.

Cheers,

It just keeps on getting better & better Richard, The rubble & the hedge add a depth to it. :thumb2:

Thanks Graeme, still adding bits by bit layering upon layering of paint. As it is this is how the base stands now...

Will tone down the moss and later paint over with highlights of the base color. The rubble is still in zenithal effect and yet to be painted.

Meanwhile I worked on the lamp post...
IMG_20240526_182410.jpg
I couldn't find rice grain bulbs for my lamp post so I heated a clear hollow rod and formed this by accident. I only need to add the filament on the inside with thin wire and cut at the base.
IMG_20240526_191812.jpg
That's the filament in the bulb...best I could do.
IMG_20240526_193348.jpg
Bulb placed in lamp post. I will use white glue or Modge Podge for the four glass panels. In the end maybe might not be visible in the end even.‍♂️

Cheers,
Wabble

I've just realised that I've neglected to comment on this, even though I've been following along. Another masterclass Richard.
