This just dropped through my letterbox fifteen minutes ago:

Brand-new, came out last week, and since I assisted the author with some of his research, I kind of wanted a copy :) And also because I have a Resicast Terrapin in the stash, of course, not to mention that about a third of the book is about its deployment in the area I live in …

And then Dragon and Trumpeter released 1:35 scale kits of it too, that are twice the size again

Hi all

So a few more acquisitions...all of course absolutely necessary!!

Some masks for recent purchases:

As some of you know, our most excellent member @BattleshipBob has dumped all his armour (mainly StuGs) for ships and so is having a clear out and I took theses oils off his hands. Conservatively, I reckon that his generous pricing saved me at least half what they would have been and they have barely been touched.

Oh, and he threw the decals and mask in for nothing....given the scale I'm beginning to wonder if he is in cahoots with @AlanG to corrupt me into buying larger scale wingy kits just to go with the decals and masks!! ;)

These two were bought new for very reasonable prices new, considering other listings. When you consider these were only £15-16 and a Weekend version is only a few £ cheaper, I think they're excellent value for money.

So this was an excellent eBay win at only £19.50 delivered....new is c.£28 and up

It was also an example of someone not doing their research......at the same time as I was buying this, I watched someone on an eBay auction site I frequent spend £21 to get a second-hand Weekend version delivered and yet the very same Weekend kit is available to buy delivered for only £18.

Ive always had a 'loyalty card' at hobbycraft.......and just recently started using the app.....and i got series of vouchers that added up to a tenner......but had a 'use by date' so thought id better use it or lose it.....and ended up with this.....happy days :hungry:

Some sound purchases Andrew. Oils are just so versatile. I think those Profipack kits are very good and well priced generally.

Splashed out on a new magnifying daylight light….so much sleeker and more refined than my old one :smiling4:

My lad needed some specific sized mesh and I needed 1:50 scale tread plate for an upcoming project, so I stocked up on styrene sheet while I was at it, since it's so much cheaper than anywhere else I've found.

Over on Scalemates, someone offered this Churchill kit for sale:

“Already started” he said, which now I have it, I consider a slight understatement:

More like “almost completed, with some broken bits that are all there” — but for €11 including postage, I can’t complain, can I? Especially as it also has an aftermarket set of resin exhausts with etched covers. I do need to disassemble the turret to correct it, and buy a set of separate-link tracks for it, but at this price, I don’t mind.

Yes that's a little bit more than 'started'...

From the shop for the new build

Never used these before but feedback is positive and sprays well plus I can try the new marker pens as well. Read that it's also better to brush paint than Mr color or tamiya, we shall see folks

Although I contacted AK and the pens do not cross reference to the bottled real colors which I find odd??

Hi folks,

As I stated in my GTR build, life is back to normal and my 4 brain cells are once again working. Some retail therapy helped, but what I ended up with was pretty outrageous, to say the least!!! I gave out €147 and ended up with all this from various places. Evilbay got me this for cheap,

I always wanted one and I have the Friuls to go on it too. A rain forest buy for €49.99 delivered and I had a €28 credit from them,

Dude 2 (JR) got me hyped up with his and I wanted one, but I guess with all the tax and import duties, the Insel price is much higher than here......A new release from Dragon of an old kit, but it comes with figs now too and was €47.00 delivered,

IMG_4834.JPG
The cover is now matt printed and no details of the kit. Ron Volstad's pic is still used. The figs that come with it,

The box bottom is plain cardboard now with no pics either. Another evilbay grab was a 3 kit deal for €47.50 delivered. They were,

The etch set is from Plus Models and is for the radio van. It was inside the kit. The box was rather large and also included all this for free,

IMG_4826.JPG
IMG_4827.JPGAll sealed in their bags and the figs are the Tamiya Fallschirmjäger set from 1971. There was even more,

IMG_4828.JPGAll Tamiya with 2 sets of FlaK figs in winter clothing, a Flak 38 Vierling AA gun and the pedestal to mount it on a vehicle, w/decals. Talk about a surprise!!! It was like Christmas in July. The only other thing in the box was a hand written note in German that said "Thank you for your purchase"...............

Prost (and still shocked)
Allen
