Pesky dust and blowing it away

True, but getting a large enough one to cover a 1 350 hull or worse a 1 200 hull is a problem

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Think I might know where the problems lie? The stuff doesn't look like dust or hairs but look like tiny straight lengths of possibly fibres? I use the green paper sheets you some times get in paper towel dispensers. Or general serviettes to wipe brushes in. What is best to use??

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

Me too lol! Just put a spare bit of wood deck on plastic card. Instructions say to varnish first.

Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

Not painted yet but fitted Given up trying to cover the marks ( self inflicted ) on the pe decks but the centre section represents metal deck on the ship and has brush painted ok. So used Tamiya varnish on the plastic deck then fitted the wood deck. Not the best quality. But more practice. So...

    Sprue goo?

Didn't mention what filler i use at the moment. Creative materials, like the way it can be removed with a damp cotton bud. But always interested in different methods / ideas. Biggest area i use it for is around the prop shafts etc

    Me again, brush painting PE

Hi Jim, I did use that in prep and was wondering after John's replie that I could just paint it on the patch. I'll give it a go as all the build is one big practice anyway and the ship will be thrown out

    Me again, brush painting PE

As many of you will know it l have used a lot of PE on Tirpitz, inc large deck sections. So after using VMS cleaner and etch primer, i primed with mr surfacer, perfect Next i started brush painting a acrylic wood deck colour, pleased until the bl**dy hairs turned up! So tried using a glass...

    Sprue goo?

One of my 'watch this space experiments' is sprue goo. Looks easy enough to make but, how long does it last in a bottle, or is it easier to make it in small portions? Anybody had experience of sprue goo? Ta bob

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Hi Tim I wash the filters too and have ordered 3 new ones as the others are in a sorry state lol. I hoover the booth as well. Do you just use water with the J cloth? Thinking of buying a Benchvent booth for the long awaited room, 95cm wide so it will take virtually all 1 350 and you can get a...

Pesky dust and blowing it away

I think the biggest problem is the room is built inside the garage, we all know that garages are a huge dust and general crap centre, and no matter what I do, spiders etc get in, so I regularly hoover. But its a constant battle. I do use the kits box to store the hull and the superstructure bits...
