    Best sets of tweezers....

One set is never enough, Lol. I have a cheap generic set, it was inside a generic modelling starter tool set, think it was a Hobby Craft one? I also have a set of three, thin, curved and flat. No name brand, just a cheap generic set. I also have a set of the "reverse" tweezers, that hold a part...

    Hi all back .

Ah sad news mate, modelling can help though, even if it just gives you time to de-stress, relax, focus on summit else for while, etc. Had to watch my Dad go into care (Vascular Dimentia) bless him, but it was best for him at the time. Wishing you all the best.... Cheers

    Food for thought.....

Yep, watched it a few days ago, as you say food for thought. If you are not taught correct history then how are you to know what the real story was? or the context of the subject, etc.

    ISU-122 Tank Destroyer........ Ogonek 1/30

Looking good..... I vaguely remember putting cheap small motors in a couple of planes when I was a nipper so the prop would spin, never lasted long though, Lol!

    Peter's German Half Track - 1:48 - Mtl.SPW.Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf.D

This will be my entry to the Tamiya Xmas GB (Thanx Paul). Its a Tamiya 1:48 scale German WW2 half track, in winter camo, with two figures. As I've not done a winter/snow/frosty model before, so this will be a first for me, and I think it may deserve a little vignette/dio to go with it, some...

Best material for MP40 leather rifle strap at 1:16 scale?

Hi, currently progressing with my German Elite Infantryman in 1:16 scale and I need to add a nice brown leather strap to the MG (MP40) he is holding. At least the box art seems to indicate it is brown leather... When doing smaller 1:35 scale I tend to just use thin Tamiya type masking tape, cut...

Got this from a small toy, collectors, model shop in Herne Bay, went in to sell a few bits I was cleraing out/decluttering and saw this while I was in there. only £10...

    WW2 German Elite Infantryman - 1:16

Figure now fully assembled and painting done. I will be adding a little highlighting to clothing creases later. Then will be gloss coated, then weathered, then final matt coat, but getting there. Still not sure about the eyes, still a bit too round, not almond shaped enough IMHO.....but I get to...

    WW2 German Elite Infantryman - 1:16

Bit more progress, started on the pea pattern camo scheme. Was not sure about the original airbrushed base colour, a light sandy brown? but I mulled over it for a while , and as its seems to be hard to pin down an exact color scheme, I decided to just go for it. Whats the worst that can happen...

    Ukraine 2022

Nice result, looks great. (y) How did you do the water? and a few details on the diorama would also be great, eg: base used, how did you make the trees, etc?

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Nice haul mate, I recently had a few lots on my watch list for a local auction, mostly planes and armour, but they went for silly prices, so I gave them a miss. Its always nice to get a few bargains though...

    WW2 German Elite Infantryman - 1:16

Made a start on painting, small bits were brush paint, but the main body and head were spray painted with the airbrush. Also started on the head, and the dreaded eyes!, here's where I am, the eyes are not perfect but pretty happy with them TBH.

    Micro Set and Sol, alternatives?

Only use Micro sol/set so far, just had a quick google and the prices seem to be quite similar for the different manufacturers. Lots are in 28ml bottles, and some are cheaper, but appear to be in small bottles, (18ml) so therefore work out about the same. Humbrol do a 125ml bottle (Decalfix) for...

    WW2 German Elite Infantryman - 1:16

Cheers, yes I think I'll just have to wing it! Front box art is very sorta warm orange, but I think thats just an "arty" pic. The top rear box pic is a far more faded look, then theres also a plain brown pic on the middle of the rear of the box, then lastly theres the lower rear box pic, shown...

    WW2 German Elite Infantryman - 1:16

Need some help, anyone know what colours (Tamiya) I should use for this camo pattern? .... see photo. Its the M44 "Pea pattern", and mentions light brown and greenish brown, but is not specific? The box art shows the pattern quite well, but annoyingly the two main pics (front of box and rear of...
