    Modellers vice build

No, it's a bit bigger. Warco WM180. And no, it's a dedicated lathe. I have a seperate milling machine (also a Warco) so no real need to convert the lathe for other work.

    Modellers vice build

Cheers. I have a Warco WM180 lathe, which is a typical 7x14 hobby lathe. I got rid of the 4 way in favour of a QCTP.

    AMT Shelby Mustang GT-350

Morning all, Just a place holder until the GB starts, but I will be building this. I took a while to consider what I wanted to build and I couldn't think of anything more American than a muscle car, and after a lot of thought the most iconic (to me) is the Ford Mustang. I even managed to get...

    Preventing rust in compressor tank

I have both an airbrush compressor and a 50l workshop compressor, and take the time to drain the tanks at the end of each use. Although unlikely, if the tank gives up from rust when fully pressurised it's going to be a bad day. Better safe than sorry.

Is scale modelling a cheap or expensive hobby?

Definitely the cheapest of my hobbies. My most expensive is target shooting. As an example, this weekend I will be shooting 7.62mm on the 1000m range, the ammunition is now sitting at a little over £1 per round. In other words, every pull of the trigger, whether a hit or not, is costing £1+, and...

    Workbench, show us yours

Whilst not my modelling space (I model on the dining room table, so everything gets put away at the end of a session) I do occasionally make parts for models in my workshop.

    Carpet

I've done OK with flocking powder using Mod Podge. I've also seen videos of a guy using enamel paint of the same colour as a base.
