Got some sort of weird "crackle" effect going on, not sure why, prolly did summit wrong, but I quite like it TBH, so it is what it is. Sorta makes the water look like its flowing/moving?- pjgtech

Second layer of Epoxy Resin in and have now attached the sub, invisible thread glued to each end, then wound round some lollisticks at the correct height, so the sub is at a slight angle, both sideways and the front lifted up slightly so it should look like its surfacing, the periscope, etc...- pjgtech

Jsut did the second layer, had lots of tiny bubbles this time, left it for 30 mins, but they were still there, so got the heat gun out and gave them a blast for 5 mins, seems to have got most out, we'll see what it sets like, last layer took a good 10-12 hours to fully set. My first foray into the wonderful World of Epoxy Resin!!! Built my little sub a while back, and it came out quite nice for a reall el cheapo kit, so it sat on the shelf for a while, and I kpet looking at it, and an idea started to form. Hi and welcome mate, similar story to most on here, eg: used to make models as a kid, life gets in the way, then later in life we come back to it, Lol. Some airfix kits do still come with paints, cement and a brush, but they (paints and cement) are pretty dire TBH. All you really need is a set...- pjgtech

Well, despite ordering well before I started my SAS Pink Panther Landy, the extra 3D resin printed bits of stowage have (eventually) just arrived today! Even though the Landy is finished I think I will paint up these extra bits and add them, as they will give a bit more impact to the final...- pjgtech

Finished my last model and not yet started another, as I've been distracted, as I got myself a new airgun target rifle, so a new toy to play with, Lol, been sorting that out for the last week or so. Will be back at the model bench asap though.... (y) Just had a thought, are there any (larger)... -

Two part clear resin question....
Thinking of doing something with a plain clear two part resin. What sort of moulds can you use, eg: would a flexible silicone type mould be ok? and if so would I need to treat / coat the resin with anything before pouring the resin in? I know it needs to be built up in several thin layers...- pjgtech
