So wanting a change and having a friend who is big into his wargaming he suggested I get some of these and paint them. Just wanted something I could get a reasonably quick result from and that's not too hard. Hopefully pick up some new skills from doing something different too.

Models are good quality and though not cheap don't break the bank either. Will likely end up on ebay when I'm done as I don't have space to keep what I build really.

Going for a desert scheme on all of them.
Used a black primer and followed with Tamiya desert yellow. Planning detailing by brush, gloss varnish, highlight and weather and then matt varnish to finish.IMG_20220407_200638.jpgIMG_20220407_114732~4.jpgIMG_20220407_114732~4.jpgIMG_20220407_114930.jpgIMG_20220407_114728.jpgIMG_20220407_114528.jpgIMG_20221008_174842.jpgIMG_20221008_103806.jpg

I have a selection of 15mm kits and figures in my stash - they're great fun to build but I'm waiting for inspiration to strike for a suitable dio.

With them being so small Dave there is real scope for dios without the storage issues of big bases.

That's what I thought about my first dio with them. It still turned out to be 24" x 18"!

So finished a challenger 2 minus decals. Not come out too bad but a very different style of painting to what I usually do.

Like the look of that James. Brings out the detail nicely, but in a restrained way suitable for the diminutive size of the miniature.

These little kits are great for what they are and normally reasonably priced.

And have to agree with Tim, James. You've done a great job on them too!

Thanks for the comments chaps, not done yet. Have applied gloss varnish, washes and more gloss varnish with Tamiya weathering powders on exhaust grills and sand on the lower edges of the armour. Decals to go on and then matt varnish.

Regarding value I thought it was good. Box was about 70 quid. Included 5 challenger 2s, 2 cheftains, 2 MLRS, 2 warriors, 4 ferrets, 2 scorpions and 2 lynx. Just bought it as it looked fun to do and also you get a fast result.

Compared to a dry brushed one and just the matt olive drab work done.
Think it will look better once decals are on and Matt varnish is applied.

So since last update I've completed a few. One of the challenger IIs and 4 Fox armoured cars so far.

Again great work James. As you've said before the quality for the scale is really good and you've really done them justice.

Very well done.

Andrew

Those have all turned out rather nice......do they make any WWll vehicles as well?
Lots Rick. That's how it started as I understand it and there are many manufacturers.....both injected plastic and resin.

Check the below links out.... First one is mostly resin as it's an older collection.

Second is a manufacturer I get a lot of my 1/72 stuff from.

James - hope you don't mind the slight digression. I can delete the post if you wish.

No worries at all, glad people are interested.
The WWII, particularly Panzers are lovely models, nice to do something where you have a quick result to see
