Hi Andy

This is a top class build, superb skills throughout.

This is one beautiful piece of craftmanship that I really can't wait to see finished. I'm running out of superlatives to describe it! You must be very proud. It is a stunning piece of work and a fine tribute.

All the very best mate

Thanks Paul. I am very proud of this one as you say. I have even surprised myself with this build. But its the comments from you guys that really add to the project, they make even more special. Knowing that i have pleased soo many with this build only confirms that 'The Old Dutch' would have been amazed and overwhelmed with the result.

Continuing with the Lewis Gun i decided that the Mag for the gun looked a Little naff... therefore something had to be done about it. The final result looks a lot better i think. I had the template drawn up on CAD and then scaled it to size and cut out with a scalpel. Here you will see what i mean a before and after sort of thing.

Before.

Next i made the rail that the gun runs up and down on. This was made out of Evergreen Styrene, a few laminated bits and a hole cutter.

Next was a coat of paint in the mount.

And finally for this session a few coats of paint on the gun and some weathering.

The gun is still far from complete, ill show you this next time. All mounted and cables added.

Cheers

Andy

Andy great detail job on the gun, especially the mag ! The extra effort was worth it! cheers Trey

Thanks Trey. I used a great Humbrol color a sort of metal black that you can polish to get a great effect. The mag will look better once ive polished it a little.

Thanks guys. You comments are greatly appreciated. Its a shame that we are nearing the end of the scratch building, I'm enjoying it immensely. I will have a nice scratch build surprise at the end so i guess we will all have to wait for that. Still plenty more finishing to come so please keep watching.

Cheers

Andy
