Nice, how did you do the winter camo?

I'm thinkning of completing in normal colours with a dark wash for panel lines, then over painting with a thinned white followed by a lighter wash and final weathering.

Looks good, like the pilot flew into a sudden hailstorm. All the paint pounded off the upper engine cowling...

I have a 144 scale Ju-87 on the block, but it is a crappy little no glue type and the paint isn't sticking very well (I actually think it wasn't meant to be painted)

Lovely - great build with a really interesting scheme. Like someone asked up thread, how did you do the winter wash effect?

That's a nice looking Stuka, it sure looks like it has seen some hard action.

The winter camouflage is looking so real. You can think about all the missions that plane had. Love it!

Hi Folks!!!

Thanks for your kind words.....that keeps me motivated. :)

Mike....the Kit is really "easy assembly". No problems in the assembly. Filler is only needed at the gluelines. You have to make compromise in details, but you have a nice model in the overall view.

The winter camouflage......hope I can explain this understandable with my poor English!!!!:confused:

After assembling, masking the canopy and painting the underside (RLM 65):

- I painted the regular camouflage (RLM 71 + 70) in a splinter scheme

- A layer of "future" followed

- Then I brushed the top completely white with a water-soluble acrylic paint (Revell Aqua Colours)

- Now I grinded the topside carefully with wet sandpaper......always in "flight direction". The sandpaper had a 800 grit and on the model surface I worked with it in

different intensity.

- At the wing leading edge I worked carefully with a grater.

- The canopy I have worked with a toothpick

- Another layer of future followed

- Then I applied the decals

- Just another layer of future followed

- The Ju recieved a washing with diluted oil paint (a mix of black and burnt umber) and a weathering with different pastells.

- Finally I sealed all with a layer of mat clearcoat

That's all.....very simple, right?!

Stefan, great job. I love the distressed look. I've always been a fan of desert camo, but winter, now you've got me thinking.
