It was suggested that we find a way to preserve any GB's that are in memory of a member that is no longer amongst us.

They shall not grow old, and at the setting of the sun, we will remember them.

If you wish to suggest a memorial GB please suggest it in here. IN THIS THREAD.

It has been said by a few of us that we need a Memorial GB for Alan G.
Aircraft of the Luftwaffe was a large area of interest for him. He had a soft spot for Fw190.
Any other suggestions for a build for Alan?

So A Fw190, which seams to be the obvious choice, any scale and in Luftwaffe paint and markings.
Time wise, is three months long enough? I'm thinking oct-dec. to round the year off.

I agree with the subject. My only concern is that there are already two GBs starting in October. I would like to join in but I'm already committed to the other two and I know I wouldn't finish within the time scale. I would feel better if the timescale was say 4 months starting January.

I agree Jim.

I don’t mind regarding the timescale but it would be nice to allow as many guys to enter as possible as a fitting tribute to Alan so the first GB of next year seems sensible to me.

Geoff.

Definitely a good idea! I subscribe Jim R suggestion about postponing to January even if I'm not hindered by other GBs; the hinderance comes from real life .

The preserving of previous memorial GBs is also a very nice idea; hope it's feasible.

Guys if it’s ok with all of you we can move my GB and put AlanG. Memorial GB up front The first of October I feel this GB is more important than mine. I hope you all will agree. I don’t care Ian if you want to do that.

If we are going to have a memorial GB for Alan G, a very good idea and a tribute to a much missed member, then a decision needs to be made if it is to start on 1st October. Thanks to Lee's very kind and considerate offer the time constraints are sorted. Alan's Memorial GB starts in October and runs to the year end. The "no plastic kit" GB also starts in October but runs to the end of March. Lee's missile/rocket GB would now start on 1st January and end 31st March.

Personally I favour a GB restricted to the one aircraft, the Fw.190, We know of Alan's interest in that aircraft and although it would include any scale, any make and any variant it would be interesting to see what we all come up with.

I think a Focke Wulf 190 build as already suggested would be absolutely spot on.

As for when we do it I will join regardless of the start date but would prefer a January start.

I think this would be less disruptive and give everyone time to gather a necessary victim and materials.

So looking at the replies it would seam January would be an apt start date in more ways than one. To accommodate the slow coaches (or those that have a life away from the bench) Four months duration. So the 1st of January through to the end of April.
Build a Fw190 any variant, any scale.
