A Tale of two kubelwagons or ebay bargains bite back... for Simon

I've been working on the interior of the kubel.
The front is full of figures but you can see down into the foot well in the back so there's a week of evenings spent lol
The leather work on the seats is done but need to paint and weather the springs on the back of the front seats. 20210323_194014.jpg20210323_194023.jpg20210323_194437.jpg20210323_194441.jpg20210323_194448.jpg20210323_194451.jpg20210323_194459.jpg

Hi all!
Finally an update!

So apart from a couple of details ( oil and fuel stains, some light chipping to finish off and a final layer of dust on the windscreen), this part of the project is finished!

Back to the figures next.

I made a scenic base but hated it so made a plain black plinth for it...

:)

Mark

Just had a catch-up. That is coming on very nicely indeed.

Also good to see that I'm not the only person that hasn't finished their SimonT tribute build!!

ATB.

Apart from the steering wheel this is now finished.
You may notice the bolt i've used to support the model, I decided that the weight of the figures might over time stress the suspension so I plan on mounting the kubel to the base and then adding the figures.

Anyway,DSCF8845-001.JPGDSCF8846-001.JPGDSCF8847-001.JPGDSCF8848-001.JPGDSCF8849-001.JPGDSCF8850-001.JPG pictures :)

First figure in place. The paper is holding the steering wheel while pva dries.
Next I'll remove the figure and really fix the steering wheel and do any touch ups required... 20211218_192958.jpg20211218_193026.jpg

Hi Mark
A really nicely painted figure. Looks to fit very realistically.

Two figures now in place, painting up 3 and 4 at the moment :)

Not happy with the pictures atm, I think I need a bigger booth.
This was designed for figures only, how will I fit a 1/16th tank in there?
Next project is a luchs or a stug 3....

:D
