I bought this kit as a quick fill-in but it has proven to be a cracker, and I learned a lot about the aircraft along the way.

Evolved from a training aircraft of the time, just about every pilot had flown one at some time so conversion training was straightforward, and maintenance requirements were low. It was beefed up, had much more powerful engines fitted along with the distinctive wing tip fuel tanks to feed them, and of course a GAU-2 mini gun.

It proved very effective in its ground support role and eventually passed its DNA onto the awesome A10

A wide array of loads could be carried on the multiple hard points, and here I've gone for four additional fuel tanks, the multi rocket launchers, and the cluster bomb dispenser "tubes"

I liked the look of this as soon as your started the build...... Just a shame the stash is far too big at the moment.

That is a really great finish. Very well done. Hard to believe it is as small as it is!

Very well done

Andrew

Excellent work Andy. I'm surprised at how small it is too!

That is excellent Andy. Far smaller that I imagined. Worth going the extra mile with the cockpit as that canopy does allow it to be seen. Very well photographed as well.

Thanks chaps.

Yes it's pretty small. Loading the hard points was a nightmare. Not enough room for my fat fingers :smiling5:

Lovely model, it looks really good. TBH you wouldn’t think at first sight that it’s 1:72.

Just been a full Committee meeting, called for by Matron her self.
They all agreed Andy this is one beautifully painted model .
