Landing gear and weapons load is on. Gloss, decals and weathering next. Normally I would not add external stores until after the final varnishes. I painted the weapons (no decals), and their attachment points were so fiddly that I decided to add them now and get them out of the way.

It really is a wonder these beasts actually fly - reminds me of the lego models myself and my younger brother used to make - so many ‘engines’ and ‘bombs’ hanging off the wings they invariably collapsed the moment you picked them up.

Looking good, even in 1/72 it is a big bugger

Agreed Neil, it is large even in 1/72.

I failed to get the decals on before I went on holiday. I had missed painting the fin tips black, so I have dealt with those. Once they are cured the decals will go on.

I spent four hours today applying the decals, of which there were surprisingly (for Academy), a lot of airframe maintenance stencils. Anyway, here's the Warthog so far, wearing the scheme of the 81st FS based in Germany in the 1990s. The lightning flash son the tail tips had to be cut out, as they were on a blue background which is not correct. Talk about fiddly!
