Here is the completed Warthog. I didn't go to town on weathering, as I based this on online photos of this airframe at a British airshow in the early 1990s. Finished in the colours of the 81st FS, based at Spangdalhem in Germany during the early 1990s.

The Academy kit is not for the feint hearted or for the novice builder, due to poor fit and vague instructions. I managed to knock it into something that looks respectable. I have no experience of the Italeri or Hasegawa kits, but if I were looking for one, I would try either of those over doing this again.

On to the pictures (and yes I know one of the bombs is off centre):

Th eagle-eyed will note that there is smudge of Blu-tac holding the nose wheel down. For some reason after removing the masks it decided to sit on its tail at the slightest breath... 🙄

Joe what a fantastic build don't know how you guys build at such a small scale. Great photos by the way, one to be proud of.
Thank you Vaughan. It's getting harder to build 1/72 with age but making hay while the sun shines

think its come out great

Ive got an italeri one to do some time

Cheers Paul. I will be interested to see how that one builds up.

That's a very good result. You've certainly got the very best from a less than perfect kit.

Cheers Jim. Could have done more, but have to draw the line somewhere

Very nice, I like the clean look. Must remember to add even more weight to mine….

Cheers Neil. I'm not too sure what happened there. It's as if the micro weight of the masking tape was all that was holding the nose down. Look forward to seeing your A-10.

Very nice Joe.
Cheers Rick.
