That's another from the stash finished.
A nice easy kit with good details it gave me no problems the only issue I had is some of the decals wouldn't come loose only with the help of a good soak in mirosol. Nice job on this one. It’s built up well Peter.
A funny looking bird i think, really does look like someone stuck wings on a boat, but I like it in a oddball sort of way. Wouldn’t like to be rear gunner with that big prop spinning just behind me though……

Agreed Tim. amazing part is it was designed by Supermarine. Walrus was a British single-engine amphibious biplane reconnaissance aircraft designed by R. J. Mitchell.

Now fancy that Walrus & Spitfire designed by old Mitchell. But it saved many airmen in the Channel.

Great model Peter very nicely put together.

Yep, Supermarine were a flying boat manufacturer, hence the spitfire coming out of the Schnider trophy racing designs…..

... Funny looking bird, ugly but functional! (Reminds me of some girlfriend from my murky past  )

Are you sure Tim. May have been the Spitfire from the Walrus. However it is the bizarre diversity of design which is intriguing..

About the only significant design factor is one engine.

Actually it is a lovely aircraft model to make. I built a 1/72 & enjoyed it very much. My youngest son & wife bought me a plate
at Greenwich market. A Walrus flying over HMS Belfast in Iceland Could not resist the challenge.

How did you find the rigging Peter as there is a lot of it. Was it supplied with the kit ?

Laurie

Looks even weirder with the wings folded, they sort of hinge backwards from the engine….

Beautiful job pete , a fine looking ‘shagbat’ . Airfix are to be congratulated on their choice of subjects lately , what with this and the chipmunk , who would have ever thought we’d see them in 1/48 . Cheers tony
