Bomb damage was my original goal, but at the last minute I decided to add something extra.
I had intended to use a bust Hurricane fighter I used for a previous diorama, but decided there was too much damage to the buildings.
So I ended up using the Dornier do17 from the same dio.

The stricken aircraft has buried it's nose into 29/31.

On the Do 17, the outer wings were joined on just outboard of the engines. Here is where I cut through the plastic. Then burned and bent things and added some broken cables etc.
The port wing had severed off completely. The stbd. one hangs by a thread. The already weakened tail section, cracked and ruptured, and almost broken off, sags down.

I've added a couple of RAF figures. A pilot and a member of the ground crew.

The pilot, the famous Sdn. Ldr. Wright R. Suppards, is the one who shot down the enemy bomber. He too was shot down during the attack on the enemy formation, but survived and has come along to view his 'kill' and perhaps grab a souvenir...

Anyway, that is what my imagination came up with and I hope you accept it as such.

So at last. here is the end result and thanks again for all your input.

B & W first, then some colour ones to follow.

I'll post some colour ones as well to kind'a balance things up a bit.....That's my excuse any road up!

I hope the above selection passes muster and thanks for looking in.

It's been fun making the model and reading you most excellent contributions along the way.

Cheers.

AS Paul said-Amazing. Those B/W shots look just like genuine wartime photo's.
Extremely well done.
John.

Fantastic job,B&W pics look superb especially with the trees in background.

Ron,

Looks good but I want to have a proper look on my laptop to do it justice.

Andrew

Well I said the end result would be worth waiting for. What an absolute gobsmacker!

Your sins are forgiven young Ron and so I've given 'The Boys' a week off!

Excellent Ron! A thought just struck me though - shouldn't the windows have brown paper tape on them?
Pete

You never cease to amaze me Ron with your amazing skill with dioramas made using stuff you have lying about, as others have said, amazing, just amazing.

Andy.

I found this old picture in a album of this very crash.

Just couldn't resist Ron.

Thanks ever so much everyone. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.:thumb2:

Paul. That makes two of us.... ;)
Pete. There is a token strip of tape on the back room ground window of 29.
Si. Luv it!

Cheers all.

Ron, that's an amazing work :thumb2:, a perfect "Hampton 570" cocktail: 29 parts of art juice, 31 parts of modelling skills spirit, 570 parts of high grade fantasy and, obviously, shaken, not stirred. :smiling4:

Andrea

Just shown one of the photos to the wife, and got asked "where was that?" :thumb2: ;) :smiling5:
