Hi all. I feel I should apologise for being entirely absent from the forum for the last several months.

My life has changed in all sorts of ways over the past year (most of it seriously disruptive, none of it entirely negative and much of it wonderfully positive), such that I've not so much as sat at my workbench in many, many months. And I've also not been on here to see how everyone else is doing.

That feels like a particularly poor show - people take an interest in my activities, then when circumstances change I wander off with not a word of explanation. Apologies for that.

I'm also incredibly stubborn about not starting a new job until I've finished the last. I started an ambitious diorama (my first) and of course as it progressed I became more and more aware of its shortcomings, which deterred me from completing it - and that acted as a total block on any modelling. I've now finished it, for better or worse, and I'm starting to paint some more figures (I've decided I'm not a big fan of dioramas!).

I'm feeling very rusty!

I've a lot of catching up to do on the model making you've all been doing, but I'll get there.

That rust will soon disappear……good to see you back Paul.

Welcome back. I know what you mean about big dioramas - they have a tendency to get bigger as the build progresses; my ECW cavalry chage is nw 3 figures bigger than planned!

Glad the life changes are generally positive and good to see you back. Apologies not needed as however much we love modelling it is still just a hobby. Many other things take preference.
