Hi chaps.

I won't go into chapter and verse but what basically started as tummy pains two weeks ago led to a GP's visit, some rather alarming blood test results, and admittance to hospital last Tuesday. After much prodding, poking and scanning, thankfully the doctors decided to try a non-surgical route (avoiding me wearing a stoma bag for the rest of my life) and it seems to have worked.

They released me yesterday evening to continue my recovery at home. I'm still on antibiotics (tablets now) but the pain has reduced massively (God bless morphine!) and the hopes are for a full recovery with just a few dietary tweaks to prevent future outbreaks.

Still a way to go but I feel like I'm on the mend. Looking forward to catching up with what I've missed but I've no idea when I'll feel up to going out to the shed and cracking on with something myself, especially in this awful weather!

Andy.

Hi Andy,
Good to know your on the mend take things easy for a while and get yourself fit again.

Thanks all.

It's been a rough week or so but onwards and upwards

Glad you're on the mend Andy.
Take it easy for now and we'll see you back at the bench soon.

Glad to hear you are on the mend.
Lets hope for a speedy recovery. Health first models will be there when you can get back on them.

Good news mate. Lot easier to recover at home. Look after yourself and we will see you back up and running in no time

Great news Andy! As the others have said, take it easy. Yes, health first, modelling later, work last of all!

Andy

Wishing you a speedy recovery. My aunt has to wear one so I do have an insight into some of the issues she faces.

Thanks everyone.

What with my wife having a cancer scare only a few months ago and then this, it just goes to show you never know what's around the corner!

Glad to hear youre getting over it andy , sounds like a pretty rough couple of weeks . Take it easy and do what i do when im feeling a bit rough or the weathers too cold to get in the shed- a bit of online shopping !! I’ll never get this stash down!! cheers tony

That's really great news Scratchy!!! We ain't going anywhere, so you get yourself healed up and running again on all cylinders. Stay dry and think about using this as a way to get yourself a bench setup in the house. Just a thought Andy...………….

Thanks fellas.

A bit of online shopping might be good therapy Tony.

Allen, we do have a room that goes pretty much unused since we had the house extended. The wife says I could use it for my models but for now I'd rather keep the mess and smells outside. Will see if that changes in the depths of winter! :smiling5:

Andy,
sorry to hear you've been unwell. It brings back memories of visits to the Norther General, where my father was a regular visitor in the last few years of his life.
Hospitals are grim places, no matter how you shade it - full of sick people!
Take it easy, - I guess Vindaloos are off the menu!
All the best,
Dave

Hi Andy

Sorry to hear your news

Doc bob's prescription is a dose of Stug but not with chips!

Get well soon, sounds like most of us are falling apart

Dave, I need to do more research as far as diet goes as the NHS have told me zip. My brother has a long term (non-infected) version of the condition so he should be a good source. He tells me real ale, and beer in general, is fine as it is a good source of fibre. Every cloud and all that...

Cheers Bob, a lot of it about unfortunately.
